Shall not be infringed...non-negotiable.

We are not doing near enough to protect the environment, but I mean in a responsible manner not the stupidity of the tofu eaters.

You need to cull the herd to keep it healthy, we should have actual punishment for companies that dump waste illegally etc.

The democrat party is more dangerous to America than the CCP.
The conservatives think the democrats are dumb. they are naive. The liberals are smarter than the conservatives because they play all their cards including the victim card ...they’re just flat out evil.
They tell you they are pro-choice but have proven they are not.... they are pro abortion

I'll always default to freedom.

It tends not to be the most popular opinion in some cases.

Yes. This.
Being American, this is for the United States, obviously.....
The Constitution and Bill of Rights is the law of the land. Freedom is everything and my freedom trumps your emotions and feelings....every single time. Your rights end where mine begin. Period. And anyone who disagrees is unAmerican.
As little government as possible and privatize as much as possible.

That both sides aren't really the same. One side is openly for and working towards the destruction of America.

This too.
Unity should not be a goal in politics. You cannot unify with opposing ideologies. Anyone who preaches it is manipulative and dishonest or an idiot.

The liberals are not truly liberal and the conservatives are not truly conservative. They all meet at the same point, at some point.

Like free speech, I defended Kathy Griffin.

I've also defended Snowden and Assange.

Ummm…you still haven’t defined freedom…you actually have produced the opposite…

Where is this freedom you speak of for Julian Assange…and Edward Snowden…?

Look at how Kathy Griffin was vilified almost to the point of having her career ruined…

My point is that the freedoms that get bandied about by persons who speak to such…are really only illusions…

They are bait dangled before the populace in order to keep the plebes in line…keep them firm in their cog niche…as part of the machine…

As long as you keep to your groove…play your part and consume…then you are allowed your blue pill…

Your not free…your shackled to the paradigm…

Do you have any sort of reading comprehension?

No one takes better care of a property that the one who OWNS it, none of this BS about "affiliated with it"

When people do not own a property they simply don't care for it: US social housing is exhibit A

You've literally just agreed with me, but somehow turned it against my own position that yes, only people who own property take much better care of it than tenants.
Go to any university hub and see the condition of freehold homes, large family homes with like 8 students shoved in it and then run down to the ground for what?
And then the same for industrial, I've personally worked in both rented and owned properties. The rented spaces were run down shacks with structure issues.
If you own property work it, employ work with it, or live on it.

And you are the one being ignorant:
- 2008 was caused by NINJA loans, loaning money to people with no income, no jobs, no assets
- rob·ber·y /ˈräb(ə)rē/ noun the action of taking property unlawfully from a person or place by force or threat of force.

This has nothing to do with what I'm saying. But, it fortifies my position. Banks took complete control of thousands of homes because of reckless loaning practices and became basicslly feudal lords owning large swathes of real estate to make more profit and coerce government to give them more economic power.

When you screw up YOUR financial future , that is YOUR own fault, starting with refusing to acknowledge YOUR own bad financial decisions. No one "robbed" you. Instead, bottle up your jealously and envy, work two jobs sometimes three like my son did and became owner in this market of a house at 22.

You're not to sharp in the way of what "robbing financial independence" means are ya?
Good for you owning property, I do too. Would you rent out that home and go live somewhere else for pure profit sake? If you did then, congrats, you've just taken a potential freehold home out of the market for a potential family to own. Voila, "robbing" ( figuratively) potential future home owners of owning a house.

No. There is no such thing as a "right" of it being easy to being economically successful. It always has been hard, is hard, and always will be.
But then some people are lazy and prefer leftist platitudes where Daaddyyy and Mommmy big government will do all the hard work for you

Now, this is projection. Holy cope batman.

The main reason for housing price appreciation in Canada is IMMIGRATION, something leftists like you support without being able to understand that if Canada import 400 000 migrants like Canada did over the last 2 years, this WILL cause increasing demand for housing and cause prices to skyrocket

I follow the housing market very closely. And you're dead wrong. Immigrants can't buy a house fresh off the boat, they have no jobs or credit in Canada, so they either need to pony up half a million or rent.
They jack up rent, but not house prices. And they get taken advantage of by renteirs and landlords because of that.

In 2020 majority of first time home owners in Canada got an average loan from mommy and daddy of over 130k.
It's a lack of supply for the demand. And judging by over a million some odd homes in ontaio alone are owned by multi property owners part of the issue is quite clear.

Keep up the cognitive dissonance. And as for Japan, I don't care about Japan. It's apples to oranges between Canada and Japan, for starters renting out a freehold single family home over there is looked down upon.

For the record, I don't have an issue with landlordship as a means of employment, as in owning a large apartment building or a large office space made specifically for renting out.

You follow the real estate market closely ???

BS !!
If you really did, you would know that price appreciation in major Canadian cities is largely due to foreign IMMIGRANT investors that have financial means

If you had a clue, you would also understand that the portion of recently arrived hundred of thousands immigrants that happen to have no financial means NEED housing and thus soak up the limited supply of affordable housing.

You also want to dismiss the Japan example I gave because it trashes your loonie leftist views with actual fact.

The cognitive dissonance is yours, buddy
Leftist economics have ALWAYS ended in failure.
Read a book sometime.

Keep right on fantasising with your magical thinking and socialism.

Hmm actually less than 2% of real estate sold was from foreign money within the last couple of years.

Infact, a good chunk of homes purchased recently were bought up by already citizen investors.

In the 12 months through June, the number of people adding a fourth mortgage or more surged 7.7 per cent, more than doubling the increase for first-time borrowers, according to data from consumer credit reporting firm Equifax Canada Inc.

Affordable housing is an issue, but its not as much of an issue as single family homes. Plus, those who need affordable housing aren't in the situation I'm talking about, but keep up with the anti immigration rhetoric, I'm not sure why you're obsessed with hating on them considering that's how America was built.

How is wanting equal opportunity for everyone a loonie leftist idea? World economics are changing old man, times change, and Japan was sucked into the old world model and is now suffering big time, infact their suicide rates among elderly and young males is so high its not even on the top ten because it grossing outweighs everyone else.
They are literally giving houses away to foreigners now and begging for immigrants too.
I don't think you understand what's going on over there economicly.

Read a book sometime

Yea, I've read lots. Maybe you should start with perhaps wealth of nations?

As soon as the land of any country has all become private property, the landlords, like all other men, love to reap where they never sowed, and demand a rent even for its natural produce.

Fine.
I want every penny I gave them from my paycheck since 1976. Plus interest. That's my hard earned cash I let them use and which when I get it back isn't even based on my lifetime earnings and sure as hell doesn't include interest.
Then they can shut it down.
But if everyone who paid into it demands that money be given back to them they go broke. Fast.

My pet peeve is district gerrymandering.
Political map making to control the outcome of an election in swing areas.
That's spit in your face evil.
Guess that didn't really answer the OP unless its also an unpopular view that is.

My view has long been that the left-right paradigm is fundamentally flawed and/or has been hijacked with the intent of dividing the country for control, or at a minimum as cover for the open corruption on both sides.

Why do we tolerate all-or-nothing political platforms the way we tolerate basic cable channel packages? Is there a place for those who want both affordable healthcare and the right to own a machine gun? Why do I have to pick either the party that is fine with killing unborn babies or the one who waits until they screw up first?

In the spirit of reviving open discussion, what are some of your less mainstream political ideas?

Please debate the merits and resist assuming the poster's entire belief system based on one thing they value. Generalizing others is what those in power want you to keep doing.

I'll start. I believe voting should be exactly as hard as buying a gun. If you think guns are dangerous, just wait until you see how deadly governments can be.

Also what the politicians make is obscene ..a 6 digit paycheck + they have their own healthcare AND it's really good + they are allowed to buy stocks and they have insider info...2 or more houses...etc..etc. I believe a little along the same line you do. I think the democrats stir stuff up at home and the republicans stirr stuff up abroad...then they say see what would you do without us....until Trump. Trump was his own man no one owns him he made Soros so made he could have bit a nail in half. I believe Trump could have brought world peace. He also knocked over the dems little playhouse of crime which not only did dems scurry out a few republicans too. Two reasons they were out to get him with the Russian collusion Illusion and the 2 Soviet style show trials. Unfortunately I think unless we all turn to Smurfs overnight politics and the way the world is now is the best it will get.
