The question I have to ask is why would Dan choose to open up right as Victoria is reaching a peak in case numbers. It's pretty obvious that as Australia enters into summer, cases will drop just like they are in NSW, but Victoria entered into their wave a bit later than NSW so it will take a little bit longer for the wave in Victoria to die out. I'm sure Dan knows cases are about to start falling, but I still find it strange he would ease lock-downs right at the peak of the wave.

On Freedom day, they reported the most cases yet, and also the highest deaths.

Freedom day, where 20 people could sit in a pub. That's freedom.. lol

it's all a joke, just a joke.. they're feeding the sheep, other sheep... and telling them, it's good for them..

My opinion is he had to lift restrictions, as in New South Wales, they had high case numbers, though no near as harsh restrictions, their lockups were a lot shorter.

Victorians we’re getting posed off, as we were under harsh lockup’s.

Dan really needed to lift this otherwise who knows what would have happened, civil uprising.

Case numbers are high, though perhaps he decided to take a risk versus benefit cause.

Though during this crisis, the labor party gave themselves payrises.

On top of this we have sluggate, ibac investigation into labor corruption into branch stacking, somyarek employing relatives on the public dome to clean his office, who never showed up for work.

Dan is just trying to use smoke and mirrors, to fool us, distract us.

I see this as what many are saying this is to force only electronic forms of payment, which is easily monitored by those who are keen to see your personal business.

Plus with lenders now asking for bank statements when you apply for finance, They will look at this as a negative all your gambling transactions, liquor purchases.

This will only make it harder for so many, this will stop people borrowing money for that new car house.

To be fair, somebody who makes frequent large liquor purchases and gambles heavily online (Even if they win a lot) would rightfully be considered a higher credit risk when it comes to mortgages and auto-finance, so this is valid information that they might ask for.

I'd definitely hesitate to call this a plan though, since gambling using electronic means is decades old. You could open up an tab with a betting shop back in the 1980s and link it to your bank account. This was how a lot of people got into trouble, they'd gamble and because it wasn't cash in their hand they wouldn't realize how much they were losing over a period of time. The same with online shopping. You can buy stuff online but your credit card bill doesn't say what you brought only where you brought it. You could go on Amazon and buy cheap booze, or porn, or a set of encyclopedia and your credit card bill wouldn't show the difference.

It's entirely possible that they simply felt that it would be better to unlock things now on their own terms than wait for public opinion to explode and it to look like they were forced into it.

i wondered if and when someone would ask this question
i appears that several U.S senate mbrs. have suggested sanctions be levied against Aust. for the way
in which the commonwealth and state govts have acted toward the people and thrown out the constitution.

we will see.
