Just got word today that I have to be vaccinated against covid 19 to retire.

Rule in place says you are exempt from vaccination (if within 180 days of retirement) except covid, gotta get that jab.

Nobody can tell me a good reason beyond the Pentagon said so.

So my options are get jabbed, refuse and eventually get forced out because I'm an E I get screwed no keeping my retirement like an O.

So now just like nurses... Thank you for your service get jabbed your killing us.

There is a way to get a perpetual waiver (for a while). I got a 2 week one today. I will get another one after this one expires.

The trick is to keep claiming ailments that the vaccine is known to cause complications. The primary will recommend a specialists. The specialists will recommend blood test. This all takes time. Request a waiver during this process.

Some known problems:

1. Heavy drinker. Cite the CNBC article 'Covid vaccines, alcohol and marijuana: what to know before your shot'. Dr Anne Liu says in the article heavy drinkers may not respond well to the vaccine.

2. Claim heart problems. Fainting. The primary will recommend a specialists.

3. Allergies. Tell the primary you want to get tested for allergies.

Expensive process but it can extend your employment. Maybe the mandates get rescinded eventually.

I don't understand.

How can they stop you from retiring?

Are you saying they won't give you your money if you leave? Or are you saying they won't let you leave?

Just wondering here. How many years do you have in? Haven't you had to accept any number of orders that you have not been able to understand? I don't know, Im just wondering. Why not just let them have their last pound of flesh and then hit the road..

When I got Covid and had to work from home, HR contacted my supervisor to have him ask me if I'd been vaccinated. I called HR and they told me they needed to know. I told her I wasn't going to share that information. After some back and forth, I pointed out that I'd heard that people who had been vaccinated could still get and spread Covid. I then asked the HR woman to send me a request for my vaccine status in writing. She said she would do that and ended the call. Shortly later I got an email with the specific date I could return to work. I never heard anything about it since.

Stand your ground. Whatever you do, don't tell them whether you've been vaccinated or not. They can't deny retirement for being unvaccinated if they don't know whether or not you are unvaccinated, because that potentially opens them up to an unpleasant lawsuit.

Nevermind, I didn't realize you were in the military. That probably works a bit different.

Gist seems to be they won't outprocess me and will eventually boot me with an other than honorable at best.

I will get the jab eventually, this is just irritating me enough I'm looking at other options, extremely pissed after 20 years.

Oops. Am I doomed?

Also, telling the military that you're a heavy drinker is not a good idea.

I am sorry to hear that bro.
We have all been through waiver-land. Work the bureaucratic magic.

So they won't even give you your retirement unless you get the jab?

WTF!

Yea that's what I said, apparently they did a ruling no exemptions get the jab or no retirement.

But if I wasn't retiring it looks like I could have walked.

Go for the jab and give the nurse a couple of hundred to squirt that poop in the waste can instead of your arm. As a last resort you can refuse at the last second.

Depending on how long in the service, gulf war disease (Fluoroquinolone toxicity syndrome) is a very handy way to go. I've got it myself and there's no way any of the side effects would leave me alive.

Did you actually read the article? It simply says heavy drinking affects the liver which may suppress the immune system minimizing the effect of the vaccine as your overall immune system is suppressed by alcohol. The article promotes moderation in general. Said there are no studies on the effects regarding marijuana but smokers are at higher risk of cardiovascular disease and urges them to get vaccinated.

Nice try At disinformation.

NO it is a great idea. They drink like fish. They can't take pills or smoke pot like normal people. They have drinking parties at the O club and the NCO club.

Don't go to a military doctor. Go to a civilian one. Military does not have to know why you got a temp waiver....

Use what is in that cranium. If they need to talk to the civilian doctor then guess what? By that time you have moved on to heart condition...allergies...

You can keep up the stall for a while.

My employer is talking about it, too.

So far, this is the best advice I've found, but it still isn't great.

usercontent.irccloud-cdn.com...

It's also in a terrible format to read, I can't figure out how to print it... but basically it's advice on how to resist, from the point of view of a lawyer.

Now I just need to find myself a lawyer if I find myself in your shoes.

No joke, my jaw dropped to the damn floor when I read the OP's post! This administration is akin to Nazi Germany or any dictatorship of past and present. Mandated jabs to retirees, employees, students, what's next?
