Harrison Township, by chance?

I know a great place in HT. Place rocks! Wife and I used to live down the street from there in Harbor Club (also in HT).

Friday nights - All you can eat fried perch dinner! Man, I could hurt myself in that place! They bring perch by the bucket load, and fresh brewed beer! OMG!

Nope, quite a bit inland from that.

But that city is driving distance. Do you remember the name?

We will be making some marinated and grilled Ahi Tuna steaks, cooked med rare.

Marinade is:
- Soy
- Toasted Sesame oil
- Toasted Sesame seeds
- Rice wine vinegar
- Honey
- Salt
- Cayenne pepper
- White pepper
- Green onion

Planning on serving it with some green beans, cuz that's what I had.

Sounds similar to one of the marinades I use for ahi tuna steaks, though I add some ginger and garlic instead of Sesame seeds and cayenne.

Hate raw fish, just hate it. You might notice my salmon is on the well done side.

I won’t eat ANY raw seafood.
There was a time I’d pop a few scallops in my mouth while shucking them then one day, oh never mind. Nope!!!!
I know where it comes from and how it gets in.
Nope....but hey, everyone do themselves.

Hahaha...Yes, I noticed. My wife would say it's perfect.

I can eat raw salmon like a bear. One of my totems probably.

LOL....
I was bull raking quahogs, tonging oysters and skin diving for bay scallops when I was 8 years old.
Most people can only dream of the amount and types of seafood me and mine have eaten over the years.
There was a time I ate lots of raw seafood of near countless types and there is a reason I no longer do.
I’ll keep the details to myself, I’m mot mean that way.
But hey, like I said.
You do you....

Cheers.

It's called The Tannery Saloon & Steakhouse...in what they call 'Boat Town' (which is the in the northern part of HT).

At least that's what it used to be called when we were there (97-01).

We had salmon last night.

So tonight is leftovers night. Two of us had leftover Vietnamese baked chicken thighs over yellow rice, and I had leftover chicken enchiladas from our lunch this weekend.

I like Sockeye Salmon but the wife doesn't. I am not that fond of farmed salmon though, sockeye is usually wild caught.

We had fish sticks and chicken strips for supper tonight, about once a week we have junk food so we appreciate the real food more. Tomorrow we are having homemade beef stroganoff over ahmish noodles. Made with grass fed organic filet mignon and daisy sour cream. The beef broth is just IGA broth, but we have not found a decent organic broth yet, usually I make bone broth out of the half cow we get, but all the bones are used up now. You can't beat the taste of homemade bone broth, but to make a pot it has to boil for at least sixteen hours. In the fall we usually make some and freeze it to make french onion and minestrone soups.

Taco night! Ground beef, refried beans, salsa and corn, cilantro, fresh tomato, and greek yogurt in lieu of sour cream. Yum yum!

Smoked pork chops, sweet tater, and zukes fried with tomatos.

Much sexier than last night....chili dogs.

Bummer!

I had probably a dozen other places to recommend, but in looking they are either gone or got wiped out by the casinos downtown (Greektown high among these).

There's always the London Chop House downtown. They have a wine cellar which will blow your mind. You can name your wine and your year, and they'll have it. Probably the best place to eat in MI, but hang onto your wallet! You tip your wine steward separately from your waiter...and you tip the matre d separtely also. Three bills for dinner on the low end. Add another 3-4 bills or more for a nice bottle of wine.
