The news has been so full of crazy and bizarre lately...

He went to get a sip of water, forgot to put the mask on. The teacher did not tell him to put it back on or send him to the office, she instead pulled him up in front of the classroom in front of all of the students and she then taped the mask across the top of his face...

The mom said the sub added a second layer of tape from his nose to his forehead, and with the tape still on his face, he went to the office to pick up homework he’d forgotten at home and his dad had dropped off.

The boy remembered that up to five students had masks taped on their face, which has been happening since the start of the school year.

The article is short, and I'm pushing the ATS limit of quoted material, so read it for yourself to get the full picture. While I appreciate that the principal notified the parents of these students, he should have also been "proactive" and put a plastic bag over the teachers head and taped it shut so she is sure not to catch any cooties from anyone and escorted her out the front door of the school.

What the hell is wrong with these people. Maybe the masks they insist on wearing are depriving their brain of oxygen.

Touching people's children is either a whole new level of bravery or a whole new level of stupidity. You have to be brave to be that stupid maybe??

The teacher was so scared of the 'Rona that not only did she invade the "social distance", she literally touched their faces.

Again it's all about compliance at any cost. The teacher is fortunate that none of the parents put their hands on her. I just can't even imagine the ignorance it took to make someone think this would be even remotely ok.

They need to be unemployed. ASAP.

I dare someone to tape a mask to my sons face. I would end up on the evening news.

People have lost their damn mind over these masks. I am in Florida and there have been a lot of people attacking teachers and staff over these damn masks. It is insanity! They are focusing on the wrong damn things.

Straight up child abuse, the teacher should be fired and charged, also stripped of the ability to "teach" children.

School administered corporal punishment is still legal in nineteen states, albeit not in Nevada.

Isn't it bout time that these parents who's children are a victim of what is described here or otherwise with all the woke/sexual abuse to take these schools to court?

It would be a great intro for a self-deprecating sexist sammich joke, "Do you like sammies? I can make you a sammich right here, right now. Knuckle with a touch of iron, perhaps?"

Yea but corporal punishment is physical, normally taking place in a Principle's office. This considered mental abuse and trauma for today's sensitive little children.

Of course, we all have had worse happen in our schools when we were in school. But today this seems to be overreacting in a couple of year's worth of overreacting.

There's a shirt that says: Touch me and the first tae kwon do lesson is free.

This would be Touch my son ... only it be a race between which of us would deliver the lesson, him or me.

Yes but with parent consent, I know, here in GA I was a teacher for a while, it was allowed in the school but parents have to give consent.

Oh
Is taping something to a childs face now acceptable school administered corporal punishment?
If not, why bother?

Ridiculous

It isn't required to be in the principal's office and I already stated that any physical punishment is illegal in Nevada.

No, Georgia uses in loco parentis, consent is not required, only notification after the fact.

Is it? I'm not interested in your strawman since it isn't what I was discussing.

Oh was it someone else who brought the school administered corporal punishment to the thread?
Lovely

From your op

“The district is aware of the isolated incident and is dealing with the employee through the proper channels. The principal proactively notified the family of the investigation,” the district said in a statement.

More than one child is not an isolated incident, as claimed.
I would suggest other means of teaching.
Who signed off on letting the school put adhesives on a childs face?

In reference to another poster who was discussing touching other people's children, A.K.A. 'punishment', I was making them aware that this is still legal in backwards places like Georgia.
