Great OP! S&F.

Seems reasonable.

I would probably be looking at downsizing now too if it weren't for that terrible boating accident!

Now all I have is an old Daisy BB gun and a set of Jarts (lawn darts) from the 70's.

One never knows when they will be attacked by empty beer cans,

I've been attacked by full ones. Crazy things wanted me to drink them !!

Being the nice guy I am, I gave in to their demands.

My thoughts on whittling down the arsenal due to age and health is different than a bug out/SHTF situation. Long term would be Henry AR 7 and Ruger Mark IV: same ammo, light and easily carried. A more defensive/militaristic situation...Beretta CX4 and M9: same ammo, same magazine.

One setup is about eating squirrels and rabbit alone, the other is about eating deer with others.

I think my bugout gun of choice would always be the Spartan 22LR/410 over-under. Saw that gun in action on survival shows and it keeps critters in the pot. The trick I saw with the 410 is you can split plug a buckshot round and it will leave a hole the size of a 45 in a target, in case it needs to be used against a larger target. Also if it was impossible to get 410 you can actually shoot 45 rounds in it, but very unrecommended (for obvious reasons)

A good 9 semiauto and a 12 g pump for home defense makes sense, and the lever action 3030 is what i learned on.

You have provided a ton of useful info, thank you very much for your effort

I kept my .410 because it was my first gun at age 9 (55 now so Ive had it awhile).

Kept my Model 700 30.06 even though it hasn't been used in years but if I need to I can really reach out there with it.

I don't need anything but my Marlin 336 30-30 for any bigger game in AZ. Taken my last 2 Elk with it.

A 12 gauge is just common sense to me as it can do about anything you need it to.

And I have 2 good .22 rifles. A bolt action and a semi-auto. The bolt gun cycles the .22 shorts well.

And I have 2 pistols: My Sig P226 & my Ruger Blackhawk .357

All I need.

Depends, rugar 10/22 (old model if you can find one) decent 12 gauge, .223 bolt or single shot(ammo) and if you plan on living a reallyu good 20 guage, lighter, not qas much recoil, and if tyou can still see still works, pistols? rugar 22, and on you titamium 22 mag, 9 shots, empty it
