OP: don’t arrange your life around this guy’s fears.

What's with the drama?

And, why are you trying to tell the OP what to do?

Isn’t that what he and others are doing? Asking people to arrange their lives around their fears? There are plenty of honest-to-goodness scientific peer-reviewed studies proving that the mask thing is ineffective against covid-19.

Furthermore- why are people being asked to wear masks and why is the world shut down for a year for a virus that kills LESS THAN 1% of the people who get it?

And guess what? The people who die from it are mainly the elderly who are already immuno-compromised.

Just like the flu- only not as serious or deadly.

So, that’s why the drama. Because it’s pretty serious that the world has been put through this PR con so that bad people can take more control and have even more power over our lives than they already had. It’s people like the member to which I was responding who have allowed this goatfu*ck to happen.

Regarding telling the OP what to do: if he/she is offended, they will let me know, if they see fit. I am positive they can stand up for themselves.

And I don't think the masks are really all that effective unless they are of a specific type and fitted properly. Almost no one has that type and if they do, odds are, they aren't wearing them correctly.

That is certainly not helping the effectiveness. But that still doesn't mean I should throw out my mask and not try to do this small thing if it helps someone feel a little safer. Like I said above, I guess it all boils down to whether or not you care about not purposely frightening ordinary, innocent people to make a point. A lot of people don't care. And that's sad.
Here we go-wear your mask or you'll frighten ordinary people!
Get a grip with the placebo mask nonsense.typical Democrat lover, all about the feelz.

It's not about frightening people. It's about infecting them.

Masks work. It's why surgeons wear them in surgery. They aren't perfect, but they are a hell of a lot better than nothing.

Only favour I ask of OP is stay the f away from me, and stay in your province

Nopey nope, dude. If YOU are afraid, YOU stay inside.

OP: don’t arrange your life around this guy’s fears.

Clod: either deal with your fears or stay inside.

I have no fears, don't give a sh#t if I get it. I misread the OP, I have no issue with taking the damn thing off outside. My knee jerk post was in reaction to were the OP lives, not going well there..in general, I don't take advice from places where they are failing.

Anyway, as I said, I didn't read OP thoroughly, was more reading replies.

If I am sick, I'm staying home. I've already done it once for a minor cold.

Thanks to working at home, I can still even work while suffering a minor illness too.

The jury is still out on how infectious you actually are if "asymptomatic" or even if there actually are that many asymptomatic people at all.

Yes, still too much unknown, for anyone to be confident about anything.

Actually my post isn't really about what the OP might or might not do.

I was just pointing out how you are doing "what he and others are doing" based on your opinion of what is going on. Glad to see you agree but, that being the case, you are being hypocritical.

Not really.

More than 50% of N.J.’s recent COVID transmissions are asymptomatic, top health official says

Over half of COVID-19 cases are spread by asymptomatic carriers, CDC study finds

Why are we all not obligated to wear level-4 hazmat suits everywhere we go ?

Why are discarded masks, littered all over town, not considered biological hazards ?

You can wear one if you wish, but they are designed to protect the wearer.

Would that theoretically mean no new cases, so the end of the supposed health-crisis in 4 weeks ?
No vax necessary !
No more masks needed !

Problem solved !!
Voilà !!

I follow the local health orders here, masks in stores and all that. I don't bitch about it, not the end of the world. I wear n95 at work, the few days a month I work. I am burnt out though, the isolation is far worse than a mask.

Got yelled at for work having my mask down walking across the flight line with nobody within a 100 yards of me, another time was walking across an empty hanger.

To stick to the letter of the rules when people close in I put one on because I have to, if I am outside and nobody is near its not on and I wont put it on.

The idiotic mandate for wearing a mask in national parks is absurd everywhere outside of the check in station.

I hear you. I'm an introvert so being at home so much isn't as bad, but the mask thing is starting get to me I think.

Like I mentioned up thread ... my memories of practice this are week are all of unmasked people even though I know we were all masked, and the creepy thing is that I've never seen some of them without masks. So how is my brain filling in that hole and why?

It's making me feel a little creeped out today that my brain refuses to remember anyone masked.

COVID is a coronavirus much like its cousins which regularly circulate through the population now as seasonal colds, a couple of the many different minor viruses.

COVID will fade into the background noise of seasonal viruses over time and be just one of many like its cousins. Some people already have partial resistance to it thanks to those other strains.

It will be like the flu -- we'll always have it despite being able to create semi-effective vaccines for it.

I know it will disappear with time but my point is this town took it really seriously. Because the people here had no contact what so ever with civilization 70 years ago and there immune system is not as developed as are immune system.
If you know your history you heard that when we arrived in America we wiped out more than half the the native population by giving them the chicken pox...i just came back from the clinic and they said 137 family are currently isolating...

and the fact that they took seriously is my point...in 1 year we dint have a single case of common cold or the flu...so social distancing combine with the mask really work...
