Didn't Lex Luthor attempt that once in a comic book.
it could have hundreds of unintended after-effects.
Reminds me of the Stephen King short story about 2 brothers and one of them is a genius, he thinks he has found a formula that takes the hostility and anger out of people. He finds a way to get it into the water supply and it works the crime rate goes down. So he goes full-scale nationwide then slowly months later he begins to realize he is getting forgetful and can't do equations he used to. LSS it isn't making people docile it's giving them advanced Alzheimer's that's rapidly getting worse, story is told by his brother who by the end is just sitting in a chair drooling.

Not this one, they were trying to make it rain(cloud seeding), make it not rain(anti-cloud seed), ruining crops(toxic chemicals/Monsanto), testing population(biowarfare test since CIA). Completely blocking sunlight has not been done.

The launch will not release any stratospheric aerosols. Rather, it will serve as a test to maneuver the balloon and examine communications and operational systems.
David Keith, a professor of applied physics and public policy at Harvard University, recognizes the “very many real concerns” of geoengineering.

SRM (Solar Radiation Management) would mimic the cooling effects of volcanic eruptions (like Pinatubo) by slightly reducing the amount of solar radiation reaching Earth's surface. The potential ramifications of these technologies are not being taken lightly.

Such methods may be deployed as a last resort against warming but they are not optimal. Reducing CO2 emissions would be preferable.

I don't mind the warmer weather. *Shrugs*
If we run out of oil for plastics and fuel? *shrugs*
The thing is that realistically we'll have to go with nuclear to get off of oil dependency for energy. But what about oil being refined for plastics? For textiles?
If we run out of resources that are used to make more efficient resources then we'll forever be locked on this planet.
But if that happens? *shrugs*
researchers digging through the climate record have reported a chilling discovery: On Dec. 22, 1991, a remote weather station atop the Greenland ice sheet recorded a temperature of minus 93.3 degrees Fahrenheit (minus 69.6 degrees Celsius) — the coldest temperature ever recorded in the Northern Hemisphere.Sep 24, 2020
We are heading into an ice age so they are killing the planet even if it were just spraying what they said.
