As a Christian who watches and waits, it's been clear to me for some time that we've been experiencing birth pains leading up to the tribulation period prophesied in the Bible.

Matthew 24 is an overview. A summary of what events are to come to pass before the end.

✓ Verse 4: Deception
✓ Verse 5: False Christs
✓ Verse 6: Wars and rumors of wars
✓ Verse 7: Famines, pestilences, earthquakes in diverse places

✓ Verse 8: It's just the beginning of sorrows

✓ Verse 9: Christian persecution
✓ Verse 10: Many shall be offended, betray one another, hate one another
✓ Verse 11: False prophets
✓ Verse 12: Sin abounds, love waxes cold
✓ Verse 14: The Gospel goes to the world

ALL of these have happened within the span of this generation.

What's next?

15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand)

What is the abomination of desolation?

✓ A desolation of the body of God, the church, which aligned with the Pope in 2014 to end Protestantism and come together. While largely symbolic then, it will be realized in the near future as most (not all) of Christendom fall in line behind papal rule.

✓ A desolation of the temple of God; the human body. Godlessness, sin; making it so the Holy Spirit cannot dwell in the body. This is why there is no third temple, the third temple is the desolation of God in humanity in the end time.

✓ A religious power comes forward professing to be God on earth (the papacy). We already see this in the works; Biden and the Pope coming together.

And then the wrath of God is poured out. If you thought things were crazy before, they'll become unbearable for the sinful.

Matthew 24:21 KJV For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.

Verse 20; the great tribulation.

  • An increase in natural disasters that become more destructive and even cause people to cry out to God for mercy.
  • A testing time for Christians, testing faith. A last call to repentance.
  • The plagues.
  • The mark of the beast. False worship or true worship, which will you accept?
  • The sealing of God's people.

And then the end will come.

Just from the summary that is Matthew 24, we can see we're in the end time and on the cusp of the tribulation. Revelation (et al) further cinches this fact. As per a previous post of mine, Revelation 14:6-12 is calling us out of (spiritual) Babylon.

There is a lot that could be said about American politics of the last five years (Trump's Presidency, the election), and I was tempted to write about it, but it really doesn't matter. What matters is the Biblical thermometer we've been given, so that we can know we're close to the end.

If you thought 2020 was a bad year, if you thought the election was bad—wait until you see what comes next. We're heading into some really dark times.

Look, you don't have to believe a word I say. Just pay attention and see what happens. When you start seeing it get worse and worse, you'll know. God exists and He is calling you home.

Revelation 14:12 KJV Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

I'm not sure God made a world so that it's inhabitants would watch and wait for the end of said world.

One thing religious antagonists have correct, in my opinion, is the idea to make this world better, rather than waiting for the next... 'cause why not?

These are the same points that get brought up over and over again. Those same verses are brought up over and over. I remember when the tribulation was supposed to happen in 2000, 2001 after 9/11. Then, it was when Obama became president, and then Trump, and tomorrow it'll be something else. The past three/four presidents have been The AntiChrist.

Why not just consider the world is a # place and instead of waiting to die to go to heaven you let yJesus's teachings work through you and help bring a little bit of heaven to earth?

I'll let you in on the secret here. In the book of Hosea there is the "day of Jezreel" prophecy. Dumbed down what it says is this.

Israel and Judah were to face a 2000 year top level Leviticus 26 curse. Followed by the thousand year day of Jezreel. So if you look at the history of the past 2000 years it's apparent the curse has been served. And by my best guess the event that triggered the curse was the death of John the Baptist.

So it appears the curse was triggered in the late 20s AD. Which would put the start of the day of Jezreel in the late 2020s AD. So according to the math we're very close to the 7 years restart of the Daniel 9 prophecy. And I suspect the 3rd Jewish temple will be standing by the end of the year.

Who said the religious folks don't work to make it better? Part of true faith leads you to works and works are always going to be positive however they manifest.

Gandhi said be the change you want to see in the world? Well, that's what true faith shapes you into -- the change you want to see in the world which means you leave a positive impact all around you. That cannot help but make the world better.

The problem is that imperfection cannot create perfection, and we are all of us flawed. That's ultimately what the end of days is about -- the end results of man's great hubris in believing he can create the perfection only God can lead us to.

In Revelation terms, I've suggested (and written a thread, twelve months ago), that the events of "the four horsemen" begin with a pandemic. It's possible that we could be at the beginning of that part.
In my theory of Revelation, the tribulation proper comes at a much later time. I propose that the Beast comes to power during (and as part of) the world's recovery from the Four Horsemen experience.

My take on Abomination of Desolation.
"Abomination", all the way through the OT, describes idolatry.
I believe "desolation" is the sense of isolation felt by the faithful when compulsory idolatry seems to cut them off from their God.
So the expression combines God's reaction and their reaction to the same event.

This one is so obviously being used to take control on a global scale in a way that is outsized to its actual effects on people. If you're looking for an excuse to usher in a global system like the one prophesied at the end, then this looks like it.

personally I think things now are not bad at all.

I think things will get much, much worse.

If I were sick with covid or unemployed or living in a crime-ridden slum I might think otherwise.

let's give the Democrats a chance.

Don't make the mistake of ignoring the entire parable.

Mark 13.
28Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When her branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is near:
29So ye in like manner, when ye shall see these things come to pass, know that it is nigh, even at the doors.
30Verily I say unto you, that this generation shall not pass, till all these things be done.
31Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.
32But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.
33Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.
34For the Son of man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch.
35Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning:
36Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping.
37And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.

You may not know the exact day and time spring comes but you will know the season when it appears. It's pretty obvious when you enter the month of April and May in the northern hemisphere. Longer days. Warmer days. Buds popping into leaves. And so on. Plus another detail. If the rebirth of Israel in 1948 was a fig leaf as I think it was then verse 32 is approximately 72 years out of date. You're obsolete.
