With all the stupid going on in American politics right now, maybe it's a ideal time to smash the corrupt two-party system into a billion tiny pieces.

Neither of the two parties are working for the people. Clearly there' no ideological differences between them; there's only us (people) and them. And, they are clearly against us.

Maybe we should start a 'Real American' party.

just a thought.

It is a good idea, but accomplishing such a thing when the one party system (it is one party) has a stranglehold on the system would be impossible.
Especially now, with Dominion systems guaranteeing that the same schmucks will continue to win.

I would agree, however in reality the US media needs addressed and fixed before anything can be changed politically.

I'm glad that lightbulb clicked on for you, the problem is there's still too many people that think they are different.

What is the proposed platform?

I dunno, maybe we start with..."No More Career Politicians", and build from there.

Sounds like a good idea, just gotta convince people to actually vote for the party, and also hope that elections are legit enough in the future for said party to even have a chance to be voted in. With the past election, I'm not so sure it could happen, even with the votes backing it.

Add 'no more lobbying'.

The only way for a third party to gain any traction is for everything to collapse.
A true change to the system will hurt for a long time and getting people to accept that in the interest of the long term greater good is a near impossible task.

How about 'bills' that are not omnibus bills?
We need to have fewer laws in our country. When they pass a bill that is 5,600 pages long, there are far too many places to jam 'pork' in there.
A bill should be limited to one subject... you know, if they want to send millions to Pakistan for gender studies... let the people see that all by itself, so we can get rightly indignant.

Lol...
Especially when you consider that the constitution has about 4500 words.
The last stimulus has over 5000 pages.

Is it any wonder why things are so screwed up?

Smashing the parties won't solve anything. They don't decide anything themselves. They take their orders from the corporations. Their task is to implement the dictates of the corporations.

Follow the money.

Amazon, Google, Halliburton, Lockheed, et al. are the cause of the problem.

Super "Real" Republicans. How about we figure out how the heck to get money out of politics, this is the only way to get our political system to "right the boat"

Ending lobbying = no more of that.

That and campaign finance reform. Citizens United is probably the worst decision the Supreme Court has ever made.

The Patriot party is one that comes to mind. seams to be a few rallying around that for the nation. Do see a possibility of the military taking over this election mess and having a new election. Could be lots of independents, those known for helping out the community. Having a party system does help share resources when there is a lot going on.

The Dred Scott decision was worse.

What about repealing the 17th amendment?

Funny thing: most democracies work better with more than 2 eternally colliding parties.

If you have to discuss your politics with a different party with which you had to form an alliance to reach >50% of the seats, your politics tend to become more .. non-radical. Less dividing.

Agreed.

They aren't really colliding.
Anything we see as a disconnect between the two parties here is just a show.
