This man is a pastor so he should be aware of the meaning of amen.
Maybe he’s a pastor like Dr Pepper is a doctor.

Nancy did appoint him, so...

That makes him a bumbling idiot not fit to run a tv remote, let alone a group of other worshipping idiots.

God forbid he actually get control of law.

Fwiw, I'm anti-religion, because the church has too much power over state.

What power(s) does the church have over the state ?
Name one.
Just one.

Ever been to Utah? Lol

Seriously though, the church definitely has influence over people in government but no direct control.

The key words were "power over the state" , not states.
Utah is a different case.
It was founded BY a religion.
Cause no one else would live there.

His comment was not meant for thinking people. It was meant to placate the type of people that really believe islands can capsize.

His comment was meant for people who really do think that all religion is trying to make us into The Handmaid's Tale and thus that "amen" is only and ever about male oppression in religion or something instead of an actual word from a whole other language.

"A-man" or "a-woman"?

What about all the other 50 or whatnot gender identities?

Tsk, tsk - blatant heteronormativity on display.

Oh phooey, I'm just being difficult.
At least I admit it.
The man tried OK!

A-men, and A-pansexuals.
Or think of the spirits: A-men and A-souls.

The word Amen means 'So Be It.'

Has nothing to do with genders.

The man is an idiot.

You seem to be following the Pastor's stupid lead.

I know, just having some fun with it.

Although his lead, in terms of "woke" politics, could be seen as discriminatory.

"A men" and "A woman" and nothing in-between?

Once you got that ball rolling it's a slippery slope (to please everyone).

In fact, I'm not sure whether he's indeed trying to insert some anti-trans message here.
The message could be very conflicted.

I don't know this gentleman, so I went with the OP's gist.

He could be saying something very radical about including women, or he could be reinserting: "God made male and female, and that's it!" Ala "God made Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve".

Suffice to say, neither somebody from the "far" left or right would be particularly happy with a representative making such a statement.

So if somebody like Al Sharpton said it?
Then we know "A-men" and "A-women" are metaphors for Adam and Eve.

It's not meant as an "inclusive" thing.
It's a Genesis thing.

What kind of insecure snowflake gets upset about something like this?

One fruitloop saying one stupid thing gets magnified and lots of people get very upset and angry: because of one fruitloop saying one stupid thing.

Man up and move on.

A private citizen, OK fine.
But somebody who is apparently in public office?
I'd like to know exactly what he meant and what people are potentially voting for.

I dont think he was saying 'amen'

He was literally saying 'a man and a woman' referring to this 'god' he was on about. The Torah explains that satan worshipers view satan as multi gendered (a man and a woman in one), which is the reason transgenderism etc has been pushed by those in power, those same worshipers!

You are correct. He wasn't saying "amen." He referred to God, Brahman, viewed as as androgynous and/or genderless, and all the other gods.

Specifically, his sentence went something like this, "We ask it in of the monotheistic God, Brahman, and god known by many different faiths, a man and a woman."

The monotheistic God is the one god believed in by Judaism, Christianity and Islam. This goes to henotheism v monotheism v polytheism.

Sounds to me like he was trying to include them all is all.

Not from the US so I hold up my hands that I know little more that you have a

President and we have a Prime Minister.

I read in yesterday's paper that the new US government are (when there is a

country to be run) getting into the new *woke* of new gendering 'rolls my eyes

and shakes my head where is this going???

Terms like 'father' and 'mother' will be replaced by *parent.*

'Brother' and 'sister' would be axed in favor of *sibling.*

Under these rules, House members would be required to refer to their 'husband'

or 'wife' as their *spouse*

And their 'son'(s) and 'daughter'(s) as *child*(ren).

Surely there are more important things to be getting on with???
