Will the new owners own?

I am shutting down my gmail account before new year 2021.

When I signed up (long time lurker, almost 15 years) last year, the only way I was able to sign in was with an social media account.

A few days ago I logged out of ATS with my social media account. Ready to create a new account only to be greeted with an "server configuration error, please try again later.", upon trying to create a new account.

Will the (if it happened already) new owners fix this issue before 2020 grasps onto 2021?

I tried something similar because I lost my other account because of a gmail issue. I don't think it will work. I saw in a different thread there is an email change option but I don't have it.

May I ask why you want to get rid of your gmail? Is there something sinister coming?

I joined 2010. I've never had any soc.accts...joining with my Yahoo email. Still.

As to use social media to join, you don't have to.

Are there any new owners yet? I don't look for the announcement religiously every day and haven't seen where any deal is a done deal yet.

I wonder who is buying it? I suppose we won't actually know, someone will create a dummy corporation and we will not know who is running the place for sure. But someone here will uncover who is behind the site eventually. Then again, does it really matter who owns it, as long as they are as good as the present owners I don't really care.

When something is official it will be announced in a BBQ thread by the relevant parties.
