Mink infected with a mutated strain of COVID-19 in Denmark appear to be rising from the dead, igniting a national frenzy and calls from local officials to cremate mink carcasses. While the sight itself is certainly terrifying for the residents of West Jutland, a region of the country grappling with confirmed COVID-19 cases connected to mink, there is likely a scientific explanation for the zombie-like reemergence from their graves.

A Danish police spokesman, Thomas Kristensen, told a state broadcaster that gases form while the body decays underground, according to the Guardian. “In this way, in the worst cases, the mink get pushed out of the ground,” Kristensen said of the nightmarish sight.

Because of the rushed burial, the animals were placed in shallow graves – just over three feet deep. Now, officials plan to bury the creatures in graves nearly double the depth. The area will be also monitored nonstop until a fence can be set up, the Guardian reported. But for some local officials, that may not suffice.

Yeah sure. “Gases”. Why would they need a fence around it to keep them in?

This is how it begins. Happy 2020 everyone. Enjoy Thanksgiving with your family. Next year you might be having them for dinner one way or the other.

Maybe the fence is to prevent contact with the ‘gassy mink corpses’..
The media loves to apply the term ‘zombie’ to new diseases, they did it to swine flu as well...

I highly doubt these minks are being reanimated by covid..

Give it time.

In a lighter, darker tone.

Is this why Minerva Mink wasn't in the animaniacs reboot?

You need fuel, oxygen and ignition to create the fire.

You only need a spade to dig a hole.

Covid Zombie Mutation

Do not burn the zombies. It spreads the infection. See, 'Return of the Living Dead'.

The virus must be taking the mink so far down that they appear to be dead, rigamortis can even set in yet the animal is not dead yet. It happens to people too.

Brain damage can occur when that happens, including the immune system to severely malfunction creating a zombie like appearance.

Just call them zombie mink, it is way more cool than what I said above.

If they are using CO2 gas on them and they are not burying them deep enough, this is a common thing.

The fence would be to keep people out, not to keep them in. If you are dealing with contaminated corpses, you don't want unsuspecting people and/or wildlife interacting with possible contagion.

Husband says when they have to sacrifice smaller test animals at work, they do use CO2, and especially when the cartridges get old, the gas is a side effect. It's an unpleasant part of the necessary animal testing. This is likely what is going on with the mink.

Well damn, I know I said a zombie disease would have been cool and all. Well I guess I can't be disappointed. Now this is some apocalyptic # right here.

Nah, it’s not gasses. It’s the location where they buried them!

I This is so wrong and horrible. We breed those poor creatures and keep them in appaling conditions and then we give them a virus and kill them in the most inhumane way.
