Casual observation of a google scholar search would indicate there maybe some element of truth in that.

I agree lots of Seniors have guns and know how to use them....but in terms of middle aged to young people....its a dead Art.

I was nailing Coyotes at 4-500 yards with a British Lee Enfield .303 when I was 12 years old.I loved that olde Trench Buster,I miss it dearly.

In Canada they slowly reduced availability and that reduced familiarity which reduced interest and ultimately volume of ownership.Death by a Thousand cuts.

I havent had a gun in my house for decades but I must admit I have taken a major leap in my Home Protection Program lately....a few years ago I switched over to an Electric Chainsaw....more Eco-Friendly and in a City it doesnt wake up the Neighbors so you have lots of peaceful private time to tidy up.

The Know Your Rights Group has done a lot of good work in how to approach the lock downs going on in Melbourne and Australia.

Joining a class action for any covid related fines helps get more review and support in to challenging these arbitrary directives. I know of one Covid fine in Melbourne getting dismissed so far, have heard there are others. It does take a while for the courts to catch up, but when they do it it helps stop a lot of the nonsense going on.

Have you looked at the CDC website? The flu fatality rate is 0.1%. The fatality rate for this Covid-19 is 0.00003% for those ages 0-19; 0.0002% for those aged 20-49; 0.005% for those aged 50-69; and 0.054% for those aged 70 and older.

Ok? Look again at the flu’s fatality rate. Now look at the rate for the oldest two age categories for Covid-19. Even the worst two age groups are exponentially lower than that of the flu. So why are you not being allowed visitors?? You’re allowed to have visitors and eat in restaurants and not forced to wear a mask on your face during flu season, right? So why are you “not allowed” for this thing? (I know I know, they ARE allowing you visitors again, now; they are being really cool about it aren’t they?)

And these CDC numbers don’t, of course, factor in all of the hundreds of thousands of folks who have had this virus but didn’t know it (because the symptoms for most people are so mild they aren’t even detectable).

If any of my post caused even the slightest curiosity or ripple in your brain, your awareness, your logic- please allow yourself to ask yourself why these measures have been forced upon us for a virus that is MAGNITUDES less harmful than the regular old flu? PLEASE think for yourself.

In NYC, they're actually having checkpoints to catch people entering the city to check and make sure they've had proper testing and can provide proof or something.

Great! I guess that was the original plan, then? To eradicate the virus? They said it was to keep health supplies for hospitals and hospital beds available for the monstrous rise in horrendous deaths they predicted, but I guess what they actually meant was that we have to lockdown so we can get rid of the virus forever.

So, great that your area has been successful! But sh!t though- I guess you will have to live with those conditions forever- because if one person gets it and passes it on, you know, people will start passing it around again. So you’ll have to lock down again, and get back to that zero cases again. I think you all may need to close your borders for good; forget allowing imports from other countries, because that could start off the chain reaction of the virus being passed around again...

The CDC % are decimalised percentages whereby 1 = 100%

0-19 years: 0.00003 is actually 0.003%
20-49 years: 0.0002 is actually 0.02%
50-69 years: 0.005 is actually 0.5%
70+ years: 0.054 is actually 5.4%

What pisses me off is that bars are still open at limited capacity casinos are open at limited capacity but the all the schools across the province are shut down again . I live on an acreage there is no covid out in the small towns but the f.ing school are closed where there are no covid cases.

Whether or not it was ever actually demonstrated in Stockholm is utterly irrelevant. We do know exists and it is well documented, psychologically, in domestic abuse situations for example. It does exist as a human condition.

And as far as being condescending, it's not in my MO as facts are generally on my side.
