In Denmark there are ruins and artifacts from the barbaric Vikings..
Should we not remove these ruins and destroy the artifacts ???
The vikings did have slaves and not only that.. they raped, pillaged and treated woman badly.

How to be sarcastic
Sarcasm (noun) is to say the opposite of what is happening at the time. It is as a type of humour, usually used to make fun of someone. For example, you see your co-working sitting down reading the newspaper and drinking coffee, so you say: 'Wow! You look really busy!'

Surely the whole city of Rome and Vatican City etc should be demolished as Rome was built on slavery.

Then we get to the pyramids and Sphinx - surely they are being dismantled as we speak - with those nasty Egyptians enslaving the poor Israelites and most definitely black Africans to build their wonders.

Now what about the great Ethiopian Empire that traded other Africans as slaves to other great powers.

Through history at one time or another every race, colour were ran by great empires and most were enslaved or butchered and raped........at what point do we stop.

The most disappointing thing is today in our modern world super rich countries such as China, Saudi Arabia, UAE condone slavery and actively participate in it.

In western countries - people trafficking and sexual exploitation and economic migration is all part of modern day slavery yet where are the riots etc to stop that.

Do you have a link? I'm not quite sure what you're referring to. Is this recent? I tried looking it up but had trouble.

BLM is making its self felt in the western world, yet it does nothing about the

kidnapping of the Nigerian school girls, or the 276 schoolgirls that were captured

by Boko Haram six years ago, and many other cases......

WHY?

Is it because that was black on black ..... and that is not racist?

Crime is crime, NOT racial whatever the skin colour.

oh the stretches and straw clutching is hilarious.

let's compare ancient history to justify shlit that's happening now?

there are generations still alive today, whom went through segregation and vile treatments.

you 'people' must really think 'blacks' are not full persons..

making hyperbole to see figures of atrocities glorified in modern day just to illustrate a point... the people walking past those statues that helped torment their fathers, great grand father etc, must be animals for real..

yes let's take down the sphynx, because civilizations from thousands of years ago has the same influence as actions taken 100 or 200 years ago..

trivializing people's suffering to mere hyperboles and memes or the condescending asides aren't gonna fly anymore.

how long did you people really think blacks would keep pretending not to hear or see these things...

besides, Germany is doing just fine without the Nazi paraphernalia
history still exists...no quantum 'spooky actions at a distance' happening here

because political conflict is not the same as tormenting people because they are black.

Boko Haram is a product of conflicts which can be solved.

crimes of Passion are more of a threat to humanity than crimes stemming from financial, religious, and political motivation. those can be solved, when and how exactly do you fix racism if eradication?

Boko Haram will disappear, but not the ugliness of racism, like false equivalency in order to dismiss what this country is about, this sole first world country where this always happens ..

no more nasty soul crushing asides...

Are you inferring there is nothing political in the black/racial issues of today?

As for tormenting people 'because they are black' ?

Is there no such thing as a black criminal?

It's not about destroying history, we need to keep and remember history and learn from it. Museums etc.put the statues there.

It's about not celebrating those people and putting them on a literal pedastal. If it was all about historic learning and knowing our past then why is it not on our (UK) curriculum to teach?

there are black criminals, fact. there are criminals of every ethnicity.
less than 200 years ago, blacks were being tormented for their skin colors, not 2000 years ago. I'm in my late 30s...so not ancient history we're talking about here.

I'm not inferring anything about political nature of racism in America.

I will never say hey look at what poverty is doing to a group of people, therefore any treatment they get for another race is fair game...how does that make sense.

blacks commit more crimes towards other blacks than police brutality, however the crimes which are motivated by hatred for another human being because of how they look is what is worrying.

what happens if there is no more poverty and less black on black crime, how are we going to justify wrong doings because of skin color then?

Micheal Jordan, a billionaire, if yourself and he stand outside a 7-11 and I call the police for suspicious activity, and you could only see his skin color not his face, guess whom would look more suspicious than the other?

"And so castles made of sand, fall in the sea, eventually."

One day, if humanity survives the next big crisis, we will have to put together what history we can from the ruins of this age.

We will lose most of it when they piece it all together from fragments because they didn't have the data systems or any idea of how to decode the information left behind.

They will have theories, they might even get close to real history, but nothing much will be left to verify that what they have is the real truth.

Hundreds of years into the future, our day and age will be known by misunderstood fragments and distorted theories.

The US has plans for continuity of government, they could preserve a version of history that way. But IMO we need continuity of history, we need to create a great museum with a Rosetta stone for the future to make sense of it all. A strong and well defended building meant to survive most anything. Maintained by a group of librarians and archivists dedicated to preserving and adding to the library.

It's because BLM and movements like it are political implements, not social awareness/action campaigns.

So its not possible to be politically and socially aware at the same time?

And thugish behaviour is equivilent to social awareness/action campaigns?

Be prepared to be called a nutjob, boot-licker, etc. by the left like I was for saying the same thing about slavery a couple of days ago. Our friends on the left hate being called out by facts and slavery is not limited to whites "owning" blacks in the US until 1860-something.

how long did you people really think blacks would keep pretending not to hear or see these things...

There are methods and processes for having those statues removed that do not require vandalism, violence, and death. If you can get hundreds of thousands of people together to kill and destroy, you can get those same people together to petition government en masse to have those statues removed properly. It has been done, and it can be done again.

How long do you think the average person is going to ignore the violence and destruction that ensues every time BLM and other groups decide to protest?

good points. there are an infinite ways to solve a problem.

if you can't solve a problem without creating a new one, then you're not really doing anything good.

but I don't know of any revolutions that started using petitions and calls for being better people
