When I was a child, and TV guide was still a thing, I saw that movie would be airing at 2am. I told myself to wake up at 2am, and for some reason, I actually did. I laid on my counter top and watched the movie on a 6 inch screen alone and very young, without my parents knowledge. They already knew I was an insomniac so they wouldn't have cared, but its still a memory for me.

Thats funny because I had a similar experience with a browning .22 pistol when I was 8. I was just tapping the side of the gun as a nervous tic but hit the trigger once, and this thing was super sensitive. Blew a hole an inch from my foot. I knew about trigger discipline, I was just young and not thinking. Nobody got hurt. Lesson learned, and life goes on.

Way scarier with a shotgun though! Glad you're alright!

How late was it?

Thus christmas Eve I was driving to Kansas from central Nebraska. Pitch black, not a place for street lights. I thought I saw a deer so I hit the brakes. It was a man, in the middle of nowhere, next to the highway, no vehicle, no shelter within hundreds of yards. No light, nothing. Creepiest thing I've witnessed for as long as I can remember.
