If you're on disability you're already getting government cheese, why do you need more cheese that could go to others not already getting cheese?

Maybe because they are not cheese eating rats, as you suggest. 4.7 million of these vermin you obviosly hate are veterans with service connected disabilities. This country can take their lives and their arms and legs and brains and now you suggest that maybe they are not "worthy" of being treated like every other perhaps not cheese easting citizen. I've had it with you Ayn Rand types. Go something or other yourselves.

I said I question why we are so stupid as to pay them those stupid amounts. They don't deserve it, IMO.

Why? Because we want to... or at least enough people want to to make it profitable. That's the very heart of capitalism.

The heart of misery is worrying about what other people have. I worry about what I have. The neighbors don't bother me one bit when they get something I want as well... just makes me try harder to get one for myself.

They're not printing anything, they're selling us bonds that we have to pay the interest on to give to a select group. That is taking from some and giving to others.

If they're selling bonds, that's a mutual agreement: they sell the bonds to buyers who want to buy the bonds. Nothing forced there.

It's number 1 in your source, the 'administration' part being the socialist aspect.

Don't you know? People like him get to just make up their own definitions.

Why would I have to make it up when he quoted it for me?

Hell, even that paragon of liberal broadcasting, FOX News, called it 'necessary socialism' on The Five this afternoon.

Oh, you got me, I 'obviously hate them'. Maybe find the quote where I said that.

They already get their pensions, disability payments, etc, this thread isn't about that.

I've had it with socialists.

We don't have any say, the public debt is well over 70% and the Federal Government buys it's own bonds with our money and future guarantees of payment (I.O.U.'s) that the public are obligated to pay. Did you ask to do that?

You're smarter than to play this semantic game of how our national debt is created.

Maybe instead of worrying about what is or isnt socialism...
Worry about what would happen in the near future without them doing something??
And by the way.. taking money from the taxpayers and using it to expand hospital capacity, but respirators, and provide nurses and doctors with the protective gear they need might be seen by some as socialism also..
How many care to gripe about them taken money from the uninsured to help for profit hospitals buy equipment and supplies?

I'd gripe about that too.

We don't have any say

Sure we do... every two years.

All major corporations issue bonds as well, based on the whim of chosen representatives of the stockholders. Are they socialist? They sell them on the bond market. Is the bond market socialist?

You hoping to snag a job burying the dead or something? I know it would come with great job security between the homeless people dying of starvation and the virus victims dying from lack of medical care but dang..
Not to mention, if we dont do something, this pandemic will probably leave our economy irrepairable.

No, they are not, because they are optional, every citizen does not have to purchase or guarantee them.

I frankly think the entire thing is completely overblown and once again the government has done far more harm than good with it's moronic actions. What isn't everyone asking the government to fix obesity? It kills more people in one year than this virus will kill in 10,000 years.

I've never purchased a bond in my life .
And, I've never guaranteed any..

Do you think that fatality is the only factor of concern?

Burials? That's so 2019.

And they always will, because people don't want that to change. That's for another thread though.

No, they are not, because they are optional, every citizen does not have to purchase or guarantee them.

Every shareholder certainly does guarantee the bonds! Where did you get the idea otherwise?

If the corporation buys its own bonds, every shareholder does purchase them... they become an asset owned by the corporation owned by the shareholders.

Yes. And I didn't say or imply otherwise.

But I think at this point the effects on the health care system should take precedence. As apparently, does the administration. Thus the emphasis on building intensive care capacity and PPE inventory for health care workers.

In think that concentrating on fatality rates (projected or otherwise) can be a distraction.
