Consider the mass of homeless with poor hygiene practices in new York, los angels, san Francisco... large population mass transit systems, and in a couple mega cities poop patrols to try and clean the streets.

San diego washing the streets with bleach, the wrong infection in the wrong place in the US we would be just as bad as them pretty quick.

I am not saying the world is ending but the situation demands we keep close tabs. IMHO

Yeah, know what you mean. Now I don't feel so bad about buying up a few extra masks and few extra can goods.

We bought extra canned goods yesterday but masks are unavailable online. We had orders cancelled for both gloves and masks but we found a box of nitrile gloves at Walmart. So there’s a run on these items. Also suggested has been safety glasses because the virus could enter through the eyes. They say to have one month supply of non perishable foods.

I have to say, i keep saying Isolation is the only way to stop this. Finally, I see them listening to the medical professionals.

Isolate any that have been exposed or possibly exposed. Family medical leave act might have to be used to allow these people to do this for the rest of us to not be exposed unnecessarily.

a reply to: AuramancerI Just read that Trump has offered aid to China, so its possible some of those trucks may be headed there. But then again I don’t know if aid is just in the form of financial. It’s hard to know, but I think the US military may have a more hardened methodology than China.

That is a real worry. They're an ongoing public health threat now and in a weakened state due to their poor living conditions and often the drug abuse.

If something like this gets into that population, California has a major, major problem on its hands, same with any other city/state that allows for "urban camping".

Not only are you right, the 1800 deaths from the Flu that has been circulating before the Wu Han Flu has already killed 1800 this Flu season according to CDC.
