I find this really disturbing.

I'm not a Canadian, but what i just witnessed i found very disturbing, and something tells me Canada is not the only country on this route.

The story in short:

A journalist wrote a book about the Canadian elections and Trudeau, the book came out during election time.
Now the Canadian "taught" Police have summed him, pressured him and trying to make a case against him for writing that book.
He asks : What is the complaint? Them: We can not tell you.
He: Is it a secret? Them: No, we just can't tell you.
He: How can i defend when i'm not knowing the complaint?

The guy secretly taped his interrogation... and i find it mind blowing.
No matter who's side your on... this is how we used to portrait the Nazi's or the USSR.

Not surprising. Leftists have no problem asserting their power over you, while taking away your rights if they feel threatened by you. Forcible suppression of opposition of any kind, whether it comes from social media, or in this case, a book, sounds a lot like fascism to me.

This is totalitarian, 84 style abuse of government.

We should not allow the structures for this to be in place, no matter witch side.

Ezra Levant is basically Canada's Alex Jones. He has a book out, and it's selling well, so this is definitely a publicity push.

The people questioning him aren't police, they're former police. They're Elections Canada officials.
Should they be questioning him? Meh, probably not, but he's definitely blowing this up for attention, and I have no doubt he'll be asking for money to help him sue someone about it.

Nazi Canada? You know, when you do consider the actions of Trudeau, I can see some Nazi type characteristics.

They need to restructure the way Canada selects their top government officials, the majority of people in Canada live in a half dozen big cities but the majority of the land area has no real people in it so the city people dictate the whole country.

If the book is selling well, your argument of publicity is a bit flawed. But hey I get you, and partly agree.
But wasn't the book actual during the LAST elections? So it's outdated now.

And it doesn't matter if you call them police or election officials. They have the power to indict. They bring REAL world problems.
It also doesn't matter if he is Alex Jones or the Pope.
The money asking, well.. i can see how that looks. But a legal case against a government.. i can understand he needs funds. He would be wise to publish all financials about the case, that could take away that concern.

But to me it's not about all of the above. In short, forget the faces, think about the structure in place !!!

Some people can't see beyond left/right, it's kind of pathetic really when ones whole existence is limited to such a narrow view of the world.

The reason he's being questioned is because he spent over $500.00 making signs promoting his book The Libranos (my oen mother has one in her yard) that looked like election signs and put them up during an election, which contravenes Canadas elections act. It has nothing really to do with his book.

In Russia he'd have a black eye and broken rips if he wouldn't have been terminated so this is still very much harmless.

This is why Citizens United was decided the way it was and not because "corporations are people" as the left likes to allege. During the arguments, the government lawyer admitted the working would allow the government to basically censor even books it didn't like to prevent them from being published under the speech control laws in the campaign finance provisions.

It was essentially arguing that it could control political speech before an election if it wanted.

And that was why Citizens United was decided the way it was.

I have been following Ezra and the other lot for years now and have to say that your comment is really not taking into account what they are trying to do and often do. Ezra has guts, who cares if he wants his book to sell as well? Isn't that why people write them in the first place?
From what I know he darn well wants to sell it and spread true journalism. He is very dedicated. And no, I don't see him at all like Alex Jones.
That is just you finding someone you don't like and project him without actually seeming to know that one is an avid Conspiracy Theorist and the other wants justice in real life for a lot of things. Two completely different goals, two completely different men and two completely different ways of doing things.

I hope his book sells and I hope he gets #loads of money because the world needs more people like this.
