Wasn't there an American Civil War general whose last words were "Don't worry, men, they couldn't hit a barn door at this..."

Close. It was Major General John Sedgwick, Union Army, at the Battle of of Spotsylvania Courthouse, May 9, 1864. His reputed words were, "They couldn't hit an elephant at this distance."

Leonardo da Vinci was modest. His last words were “I have offended God and mankind because my work did not reach the quality it should have.”

I guess the Mona Lisa wasn't good enough?

I'm hoping for "I'm 'coming' " (the added ' lizbeth mentioned above came close but didn't capture my full meaning) ...

but fully realize it might be, "Eff you fascist pigs" ...

or most likely, "the oven keeps lying to me ...who are you people?! Daisy, Daisy, tell me your answer true ... mommy!"

William Henry Seward, architect of the Alaska Purchase, was asked if he had any final words. He replied, “Nothing, only ‘love one another.’”

Love it! My son, when he was 8, got to go riding on an ATV in a rancher's pastures....he said that to me:

"Today was the best day of my life."

He has said that since then, too. Life is precious.
