Mysterious Phenomenon in the Sky Over Brazil

A weird piece of footage purportedly filmed in Brazil shows an eerie aerial anomaly that some have likened to an angel hovering in the sky. As is often the case with such fantastic scenes, the origins of the video are murky at best. It reportedly first appeared on a paranormal-themed Facebook page earlier this month billed only as simply a "strange sighting in Brazil" and subsequently wound up circulating on YouTube this week.

In the video, a puzzling white form, for lack of a better term, can be seen wafting through the sky amid some dark clouds. The oddity appears to change shape multiple times, occasionally resembling an angel with outstretched arms or a dragon flying through the air. Unfortunately, with little information concerning where and when the footage was filmed nor any insights from the witness, we're left simply to wonder what the anomaly could have been.

Similar sightings have been seen in the United States. It's a "crown flash" weather phenomenon.

Crown flash is a rarely observed weather phenomenon involving "The brightening of a thunderhead crown followed by the appearance of aurora-like streamers emanating into the clear atmosphere".[1] The current hypothesis for why the phenomenon occurs is that sunlight is reflecting off or refracting through tiny ice crystals above the crown of a cumulonimbus cloud. These ice crystals are aligned by the strong electro-magnetic effects around the cloud,[2] so the effect may appear as a tall streamer, pillar of light, or resemble a massive flash of a searchlight / flashlight beam through the clouds. When the electro-magnetic field is disturbed by electrical charging or discharges (typically, lightning flashes) within the cloud, the ice crystals are re-orientated causing the light pattern to shift, at times very rapidly and appearing to 'dance' in a strikingly mechanical fashion.

The weather sure is strange these days we've got weird-looking clouds like roll clouds, shelf clouds rectangular clouds many lenticular clouds and even huge lightning strikes without thunder sound. And now plasma seems to get its own life??

I believe it's called a fire cloud it happens during large fires .

Or there are life forms in our atmosphere we know nothing about. They may need the charged atmosphere to be this low because they normally lived in the upper atmosphere which is not over charged by HAARP and by the newly thinning magnetosphere so they could be in trouble and coming down, just as many sea creatures from the deep are now coming to the surface.

It's quite dishonest to suggest that this phenomenon is a crown flash or fire cloud. Neither has ANY resemblance whatsoever to the filmed phenomenon and only someone desperate to debunk the reported phenomenon would propose this interpretation, which looks nothing like what was filmed. Instead, the flapping wings and tail are clearly discernible, making it look like an enormous flying bird that retains its form in graceful, rhythmic movements (not like the sudden, random flashings of a crown flash.

If you want to offer a natural phenomenon as a scientific explanation, at least offer one that matches the supposed anomaly.

You can make any phenomenon look graceful and rhythmic if you slow the film down enough.

In July of 1984, the Salyut 7 was on the 155th day of its mission and things were going in a routine fashion until there was a sudden transmission from cosmonauts Commander Oleg Atkov, Vladmir Solovyov, and Leonid Kizim in which they claimed that the space station had suddenly been surrounded by an oppressive, blinding orange light.

The crew of three aboard the Salyut 7 all then allegedly looked out of the portals to try and see what was causing this inexplicable brilliant glow.

At this point they would witness probably the last thing they had expected to see out there. There hovering in space in front of the space station were what the crew would describe as seven enormous winged humanoid beings estimated as being around 90 feet in height and with calm, smiling faces, and it was from these bizarre entities that the ethereal light was apparently emanating.

They were also claimed to exude a feeling of calm and peacefulness, and oddly the cosmonauts felt no fear during the encounter, merely wonderment. According to the witnesses, the colossal apparitions, which they described as “angels,” matched the speed of the space station, remaining in the same position for around 10 minutes before fading away.

This is pure optical illusion. At first. I saw a angel/bird of light soaring through the clouds.
Now I realize it is actually the different layers of clouds. The sun is peaking through the clouds behind the faster moving clouds in the foreground.

The bird is not moving. The clouds are moving and covering up that crease of light and making it look like movement.

Big fires in the amazon. Maybe that is what is in the background, smoke.

shape somehow reminded me of the "skylab 3 incident" or "frame ISS013" from aurora borealis both in this sweet video
