In a situation like this. I can’t help but wonder why a good Samaritan wouldn’t arm theirself in the sporting goods department to confront the shooter ?

They might not have the training.

But it’s better than sitting on your hands .

I’m pretty damn sure I would .

If it was people drawing their personal firearms to engage/protect, and not only they survived but so did the shooter ... huh, those cops must not be the bloodthirsty murderers they get made out to be. Given the situation, that's a metric ton of situational awareness and restraint.

Just to clarify, reports of multiple shooters doesn't necessarily mean there were multiple shooters. It means at least one witness reported a 2nd shooter and law enforcement is, responsibly, following up on that and investigating it. It could certainly be a 2nd shooter. We've seen incidents like this with multiple shooters before. It could also just be a witness saw another witness with a gun and thought they were involved. There are any number of explanations.

Perhaps it's time to start examining why so many young men are exploding? It isn't because they're young men, but there's something to do with society that's putting this pressure on them. Young men have always been young men.

I've got NBC on the TV, and the number changed as I was typing. They interviewed a man who was in the mall, at Foot Locker, and heard shots. He's in the military and was carrying, so he pulled out his weapon and started to get some unaccompanied kids out. The police stopped him and confiscated his gun and held him for questioning, I can only imagine the chaos.

Now, they're reporting that the mayor of El Paso is saying that there are 3 people in custody, again. But, they're also cautioning that they may only be being "detained" as witnesses.

Just heard Texas Lt Governor mention ANTIFA in close relation to the shooter. I hope I miss-heard that.
