Best voice: Steve Perry/Journey
Best overall: I could swing either way with David Lee Roth or Rob Halford

Jim Morrison is up there, Robert Plant is there too. but for me it has to be Maynard James Keenan of tool. I've seen them several times and every time that guy does something different.

Freddie Mercury is the greatest, of all the great frontmen, Freddie is the most godlike. I was there during live aid '85 and I urge you all to watch radio ga-ga of live aid...

Freddie...That is prolly the only good choice I have seen so far...

But...people...seriously...all of your choices...come on...Tom D.? Are you serious? Billy Joe?

The best of the best of the best...Musician, Song Writer, poet (in rock) Front man, vocals, of alllllll time, to this day...

Is Maynard James Keenan of Tool/APC/Pucifer

I will debate that all damn day.

I know its already been said, but I have to...again.

Jim Morrison, The Doors.

Hands Down. In my opinion, no contest. Based on his Charisma alone, he was an excellent frontman. Add in his dark poetry, his testing the limits, and that luscious curly hair? Hands Down.

In general I'd say Plant and Freddie M.. Jagger looks like an epileptic on stage, it's too damn distracting. Best voice Steve Perry and Freddie M..

Personally I'd say overall Robert Plant and that kid from Hanson.

Peace

Haha, this is like discussing the best politician of the cold war.

but i'm going to go ahead and say gene simmons. in terms of crowd interaction at live shows and as being a band leader. no one can touch the man.

the best ive seen live would have to be michael hutchence
he oozed everything a front man should have...voice, charisma and worked a crowd like no other.
