I've heard all kinds of hand wringing about how terrible the Noahide laws are/would be. I have to wonder if these people have ever read them or what they think is so terrible about them - and what it would prevent them from doing b/c from where I stand/sit they all seem pretty reasonable. Here they are for those who don't know what they are:

Not to worship idols.
Not to curse God.
To establish courts of justice.
Not to commit murder.
Not to commit adultery, bestiality, or sexual immorality.
Not to steal.
Not to eat flesh torn from a living animal.

In most cases, these laws are basically what we have now but it just varies as to what the definition is of some of these. Cursing God could be construed as being anti PC as you'll be vilified and outcast in many places. The adultery is basically illegal as it can be reason for divorce or allow the damaged party to win a divorce - the other sexual things, I'm all for as they are a large part of the reason for the decline of society. Currently all animals are slaughtered before eating from them, there are laws against this as is - cruelty to animals and such.

So what's the big deal? Are the people who are afraid of this the sexual deviants/degenerates? Do I need to lock up my sheep & goats until these laws are passed - are there people who practice bestiality running around (other than the 250+lb heifers we see daily walking around looking like they need to bury their head in a feed bag).

So what on this list is a major game changer? Where is it going to limit people's freedoms and lead to mass convictions/death sentences?

This list of rules is pure madness

i suspect this is an American issue. Do the American secularists object to the concept as a sneaky way of bringing in submission to the Biblical God? Is there a cult focussing on these laws? Traditional Christian faith has not really bothered with them.

Not to worship idols.

In other words, any other expression of divinity but ours is invalid.

Not to curse God.

In other words, never question our expression of divinity even if it appears duplicitous and vengeful.

To establish courts of justice.

In other words, our understanding of the expression of our god's divinity is established as unquestionable authority and social law.

Not to commit murder.

Unless we murder people who are residing in lands we want or disagree with our god's expression of divinity.

Not to commit adultery, bestiality, or sexual immorality.

In other words, our women and beasts are our property. We dictate how their bodies are used. And, we must keep our bloodline pure.

Not to steal.

In other words, once we've stolen land and property it's ours. We own everything, and you must pay to enjoy our confiscated fruit.

Not to eat flesh torn from a living animal.

In other words, don't act like a ravenous animal.

Yep pritty straight forward isn’t it. A modern spin on the 10 commandments for those who falsely believe the 10 are just for the jews.

No big deal to those who have a civil functioning moral compass. Even go as far as saying it's second nature to the consciously aware.

To the majority of todays humanity the "game changer" is the implementation of all of them - the majority of most people alive presently either subconsciously or perhaps obliviously but more worryingly ignorantly behave directly contrary to these simple directions.

The only thing limiting "people's freedoms" is themselves.

Anyway ill give you a star but its a sympathy star in the hope you can find something constructive to add.

I think irrelevant is a more accurate description than good or bad.

Murder, bestiality and stealing are the only ones on the list that make any sense. But even stealing and murder are okay in some instances.

Bestiality is allowed in Germany.

It is lawful in Germany to have sex with any animal 40 lbs and lighter.
So we are living in that world.

My fav on Noah is it is going to get just a cruel and as inhuman as that time today. Where every imagination of man will not be hindered. Without a moral guideline you think its bad now wait till then.

First of all, this just can't be true. It's got to be some urban myth.

But if it were true, what's with the weight specs?? 40 pounds OR LIGHTER seems wrong. Seems like if they are going to approve sex with animals, it should be with larger, heavier animals as there would be less chance of harming larger ones than say, a little ten pound animal.

We already have courts of justice, so unless you are referring to religious courts, which would be a very bad idea, it's moot. Your first two seem to indicate some sort of religious court of justice to burn the witches.
Adultery or sexual Immorality. As judged by who? Just another way to persecute gay people.

No meat? Eff that.

Do as thou will but commit no harm unto others
I like this law and if I’m not mistaken it comes from Satanism.

I’m convinced we got our religion backwards, the god of the Old Testament was an absolute c**t, there is nothing loving or even slightly redeeming about his nature, even his laws seem arrogant and petty, almost insecure.

On the other hand, Satan in the bible gives humans knowledge and tries to comfort Jesus.

I think George Carlin said it best when he said Satan was a better person but god had a better publicist

Actually the Apostles (Peter and James) were asked about wearing the cross and they said it was OK and it is not an idol..

Not to worship idols.

I will worship Billy Idol if I goddamn well please.

Not to curse God.

I will also make mouth noises as I please, god dammit.

The rest are innate desires that reach across humans as a whole. People tend to want to stay alive, and are willing to follow agreed upon rules of conduct to continue doing so.

The above two are just control freaks nitpicking for the sake of it.
