Do any of you think it is funny to taint food intended for consumption by others? Who is to blame for this sort of ridiculously vile behavior? Should the parents be held accountable? Social media? Video games? Climate change? As the son of a junior high school teacher and having once been a teenage boy with a brain that was more interested in sex, drugs, and rock & roll than anything else, I know that kids can be nasty, cruel, plain old stupid, and vindictive. But, I would have NEVER messed with anyone's, not even a hated teacher's food.

Also, as a teenager, I worked in restaurant situations, both preparing food and cleaning commercial kitchens. Seeing the food service industry first hand is probably one of the reasons I rarely eat out, and prefer to prepare my own food in my own kitchen with my own two (washed) hands.

What do you think should be done to these kids? I would be embarrassed to have a child that did this sort of thing, what would that say about me as a parent? How much responsibility lies with how a child was raised? Peer pressure can be a powerful thing and coax youngsters into doing things that shouldn't be done, but there has to be a moral line. At what point do you say NO, I'm not doing this twisted crap no matter what you do or say.

Several Ohio middle school students are accused of adding bodily fluids to food before serving it to teachers, officials said. Eight Olentangy Hyatts Middle School students, mostly 14-year-olds, are being questioned as suspects in the incident, which allegedly happened Thursday, according to a statement from the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office. The food, which included crepes, was being served to teachers acting as judges for a cooking competition that was part of a "Global Gourmet" class, the statement said. Olentangy Hyatts Middle School is in Powell, Ohio, about 14 miles north of Columbus. Five school staffers likely ate the food that investigators believe was "tainted" by the students with semen and urine, a sheriff's office spokeswoman told NBC News. A student recorded some of the incident on video, which was shared among students, the statement from the sheriff's office said. By the end of the day Thursday, the video had reached school administrators, who notified the sheriff's office, which has been investigating ever since, the statement said. Investigators are working with prosecutors to determine possible charges.

Kids do dumb sh*t. 14 year old boys don't really think things through and this kind of stuff is often viewed as "comedy."

They should be punished, but I don't know that they should be crucified for it.

I'm not aware of anyone I know who has done something like that... actually, I take that back. Pretty sure a kid or two has put a booger on someone else's food in the lunchroom.

When I was in high school, kids did all kinds of pranks to the administrators. One year, some kids broke into the school and greased the floors of the school. Principal comes in and bust his ass on a the slippery floor. This prank was so perfectly executed, you'd thought it was a scene cut from Ferris Bueller.

Another year, we had an unsual cold snap. Some kids rigged water hoses above the doors to the school creating a solid block of ice in front of the doors to the school over night.

Another year, they spread nails around the parking lot giving a ton of cars flat tires.

My senior year, a class mate painted the hall way of the school. He got caught though. Only reason he got caught was that the principal suspected him and during his questioning, he inadvertently crossed his legs and had paint on the bottom of his shoe.

Then to complete their idiocy, they shared the video?!

Time for some tough love in Ohio I think. All those involved should not only be suspended for at least a week, but given clean up duties for the teachers who ate their food during that suspension. Then, the local PD should consider pressing legal charges of at least criminal mischief against them as well.

I agree that kids do dumb stuff and don't think things through. Hell, I still am like that. But certain things, at least to me, are instinctively taboo. Rape, murder, animal abuse, and masturbating or pissing in a crepe all fall under that category for me. My dad tried to instill the "Golden Rule" into my head at a very young age, perhaps this has helped me steer clear of doing some stuff that other kids who didn't have the benefit of learning some basic truths might get involved with. There also seems to be a trend on social media to be as edgy as possible and out-do others in a competitive manner. Back when I was a teenager most of us didn't have a way to video-tape something like this and share with our friends. Pics or it didn't happen.

Breaking windows is dumb stuff.
Raiding moms liquor cabinet is dumb stuff.

Tricking someone into eating seaman and drinking your urine is assault.

If the teacher did this to the students there would be a multimillion dollar lawsuit.

Great job on a healthy rant! The disgust is apparent, yet the OP rant still cares for what collective opinions by way of questioning have to say about it. Please forgive my ATS rant OP scrutiny... it's not on topic anyway.

What a difficult issue to tackle. While intricate details of a possible course of remedy may prove to be extremely difficult or impossible to find, we just may have to sift through common links. Whether it be food offerings, energy offerings, or any subject matter that requires unity, the common link is seemingly the level of importance people put towards themselves and others.

If we all, as individuals, just change the way we speak to each other, change the words we use when communicating with others, and spend more time offering energy in exchange for sucking it from others... youth will begin to repeat the ways of the environments, parents, and descendants.

The environments of which we are raised and brought up in will undoubtedly take precedence over what our parents could tend to or offer. As environments become more and more toxic, parental abilities become less and less effective.

The common parent is willing to take severe blows as it stands for themselves. But, as soon as a parent witnesses harm put on their children, people fight like champions almost every single time... whether they die or live when acting.

So what this tells me is that the base concepts of remedy towards intricate concerns just may start with stretching the practices of "I treat people as I wish to be treated" to a new level. Healing just may find roots when the old adage stretches to "I treat people as I wish for my own children to be treated."

By no means have I fixed worldy concerns by stretching tough choices down into simple child like concepts, but it certainly changed the way I communicate with all others. Finger pointing outwardly has turned inwards a bit more and more each day.

At the least, as an individual I've been trying to practice consuming the soup of others at a higher rate. Because love and compassion may exist for many many soup chefs outside of my own soup bowl, that very same love and compassion does not demand that I eat the soup of others.

I am just an I in a sea of all though...

When I was a teenager I was never allowed on school trips (long story), so whenever my class was supposed to go on a trip without me, I'd put gravel in the school bus' valve caps.

I've never told anyone that before now, lmao

Being a mom, of a son that did ALOT of stupid crap, I would beat them within an inch of their lives for something this bad. Thankfully, he was never this disgusting.
As far as holding the parents responsible, its a tough call. There were parents all the time that said, "Not my son", and can't believe their child could ever do anything wrong.
BS.
You should know your kid, and what they are capable of, to an extent. But there are kids, that do everything right at home, and are complete demons with their friends.

Send them to Juvenile court. Some type of fine, major community service time, and a public apology, in front of the whole school. Obviously they need to feel some shame for what they did.
Stupid, stupid boys.

Hahah, this seems more-so something out of a dirty comedy movie like American Pie or something just as absurd.

Alright, I got a query for you.

Let's say, I fill a bottle of Apple juice with human "apple juice", but it's in my fridge, in my locked dorm.
Someone breaks in, and steals/consumes the "apple juice".

I might be weird for keeping an apple juice bottle of urine in my fridge, but I also don't feel like I'm at fault in that situation.

When idiots who work in restaurants do this kind of stuff someone should just tell them that one day they want to eat out, maybe with their mum/dad/sister/brother or even one day their own kid...what goes round comes around.

I am of the motto if I can't taste it and it isn't harmful, it's of no interest to me and hence not even 'funny' to those who did it, because I just don't care.

If they recorded it and it had any of the, ummm, "pre" contamination on video. They could possibly be on the line for making and distributing C pornography. I think I've heard of that before even when the producers are under age.

Might as well throw the whole book at them, that way they will have atleast one charge stick(no pun intended) and maybe scare the piss out of them(sigh...again no pun intended).

Should I laugh or gag?
Keep the police out of it.
While gross, it's probably not even dangerous. Probably healthier than the sugar, or other ingredients.
Being so grossed out, someone would want them removed from school, thrown in the court system to become career criminals etc is insane.
Make them clean the toilets for a month, or do manual labor/janitory duties for punishment
