Late Friday night, two sounding rockets launched from a small spaceport in northern Norway. The two skinny rockets soared to an altitude of 320km, and along the way each released a visible gas intended to disperse through and illuminate conditions inside the aurora borealis. Some of the resulting images were stunning.

Two rockets dropped tracers into the northern lights, very unusual?

Is this a real video or CGI video, if this video is raw untouched footage then were living in a computer game!

They do this quite often. Wallops Island has launched quite a few sounding rockets to release gases into the upper atmosphere to trace.

As per the other thread, why wasn't the public notified there would be weird s**t in the sky beforehand? Or maybe they were told locally, and that didn't translate/get spread to others? Just seems weird to me, but very pretty light show. Hope the scientists learned something from it.

Notices are usually issued, but unless the media, or social media carry them they won't get to everyone.
