This is so strange.

It is like the birthday balloon thing by Mellon, such a stupid mistake it almost has to be on purpose.

I cannot, try as I may, even begin to imagine how they thought they could get away with it if they have been overstating Elizondos position.

I don't drop in too often now, but occasionally, things reach me via the mainstream media, and I feel it might be worth dropping a comment here. I'll preface this by saying that I think that there are good people attached and connected with TTSA. I do however, think that it is VERY important to be honest about how such a setup might work.

Here is how I would put together such a media savvy organisation. Is TTSA structured like this? Who knows.


Influencer Pyramid

I'd create a pyramid to control the message.

APEX - The top of the pyramid - This would feature two people in the organisation. Likely one with a strong media presence

Influencers. The next level down from the top of the pyramid. I would, perhaps even a year out, pick a select group of new media influencers and get them to sign NDAs. Of course if anyone bothered to ask these key people if they were under NDA they would have to say 'yes' or 'no comment' - but there's nothing I can do about that.

Based on an advanced schedule I would drip feed upcoming 'revelations' to my team of influencers, and give them "embargoed" facts. I would, perhaps, also drop what might appear to be weaknesses to lure in the segment of ufology I couldn't get on side. I'd give them phoney bones of contention to fight over, whilst my Influencers knew they would have definitive rebuttals to release in due course.

Cheer Leaders

Let's face it - the Influencers egos are stroked by getting advanced access to the "truth". Could be the actual truth or not - doesn't matter. They then get to share upcoming secrets and 'fact traps' with their favoured cheerleaders. They help push the narrative on social media.

The Fan Base
These people follow the Influencers and the cheerleaders on social media. They help spread the word.

Now, I can't say if this is how TTSA works, or even if it's a good or a bad thing. I'd say this is a necessary structure after talking to friends in PR.

What I can say is this - I'd strongly suspect most of the social media people have seen every episode of The Unidentified. If there was any major revelation it would have been seeded already and embargoed media and articles would be waiting.

Also - The History Channel seems to have a batting average of ZERO in terms of releasing ground breaking information ahead of the general media.

So, I'll make two predictions:
1) There is no major cliffhanger beyond, "we need money to complete the study of this potential meta material" (read as renew us for Season 2)
2) The "Leaked documents" already have a no comment status from Hal Putoff. Ignore the validity of the contents, and focus on if the event took place.

I think it just got deleted from Rojas' twitter, but Jimmy Church posted the following about Lue. It would seem to be an interesting point---Can the MSM continue to refer to Elizondo as the (former) Director of AATIP following what Greenewald managed to get from the Pentagon? Maybe not.

If you read the wording on the BIO page for Elizondo on the TTSA webpage carefully, you will find that they state that he ran the program, not that he was in a formal leadership position. If this is something they have been consistent with, this may be the kind of word-games that these guys seem to enjoy playing. Especially to frustrate the efforts of people like Greenewald, who are trying to get information through a completely legal and valid procedure to provide some oversight to the people and the media.

Let us say, for a moment, that Elizondo did indeed "run" the program, in the sense that he was the reception point for papers and reports that came in. But he was not necessarily the formal head of the program. Maybe that was someone higher up. This is semantics, I know, but they could get away with this, I think, because the American people has accepted for decades that these kind of shenanigans are perpetrated by the people that they entrust with keeping some things secret.

So why not come out and just say it? I ran it, day to day, but I was not the formal leader? Maybe to allow the critics to focus on this and isolate them from the "cheering crowd"?

If this is the case, Elizondo has not actually lied or deceived, as such. He has just been a bit sloppy with his wording.

Meanwhile, poor Greenewald is left with these odd Pentagon statements that has caused him to be attacked by the Faithful. Talk about shooting the messenger. It's not Greenewald who is issuing denials and confusing matters, it is the Pentagon and TTSA themselves. All Greenewald is doing is informing us about what the Pentagon is saying in writing.

This treatment of Greenewald makes me so angry because he does not deserve this.

Not even a little bit.

Was AATIP nothing beyond a spreadsheet listing pilot reports of near misses? That would be something he could do back in his tent overnight in Afghanistan on a laptop.

I do wonder why the Navy seem to have been the focus here though. The USAF has been barely mentioned. If at all.

I don't think some people in the the Pentagon are playing with a straight bat either. The FOI and PR spokespersons can only go on the information provided to them. It looks to me like there have been some fun and games going on there in the background. Even the name of the project was in some doubt for a long time. All I see here are games being played yet again.

But, importantly, it's not the word of Greenewald versus Elizondo, but the word of a Pentagon Spokesperson versus Elizondo.

I can't understand why this is so hard to understand for some. It boggles the mind.

Surely, people can't think Greenewald is making forgeries of pentagon e-mails?

Notwithstanding that MM has pointed out that they have stated it more directly, I do think you're on to something about carefully-crafted word games. That was very subtle, so good catch, beetee. Probably a lot more examples of that waiting to be found and uncovered.

I'm with you on Greenewald, too. Hope he can feel the support he does have. I'm sure he wasn't popular with some of the players even prior to this because of his work shining some light into the dark corners where confused things scurry.

This whole C2C thing with, LMH, E. Dames, Elizando, Knapp, Noory and the rest of that crew seems so contrived, agenda driven and stinking of manipulation/mind control of the C2C listener. That pathetic crowd that needs to be an "insider" ....sad, but that seems to be the direction the discipline is going. Just entertainment for geeks and as far from denying ignorance as you can get. A dark performance, but to what end?
Even some ATS members; I'm beginning to question their motives. As I read between the lines; the political aspect, gets more and more apparent.
