Trans-racialism! Is it ok to change race?

After perusing the DSM you will find a mental illness that applies to every person in this world in one way or another. It is realy a case of the inmates running the Asylum. Watch out for the "normal" people.......

People can change their race.

(happens all the GD time when people move to a different country).

I like to think of people as part of tribes not "races" or "cultures". And in this day and age people can be part of multiple tribes and join new ones and leave old ones as much as they like.

I agree that many other illnesses exist. I don't think many are as celebrated as this one is in America.

"Watch out for the 'normal' people" you say. As more and more Americans slowly convince themselves that it's immoral or intolerant to suggest you believe certain practices or behaviors are not in the best interest of our American culture, society or economy long term.

It's all become about not infringing on someone's "freedom" to seek instant fulfillment/pleasure as long as you don't have to see who it hurts.

It's perfectly fine with me if a person wants to change their race, sexuality, name, etc. If a person wants to have a ceremony where they legally marry their great Dane named Scooby Doo, that's fine too.

I will defend their right to do so.

However, I draw the line at enacting legislation that requires me to accept or validate a person's identity crisis by mandating the language I use. I will have no part of that.

Well, I guess if a man can self-identify as a woman and not cause a fuss, then a white woman can self-identify as whatever colour she wants. That's not racist, surely?
