Those are not insults, I was just telling the truth...
Feel free to continue to showcase your fabulous knuckle dragging ability, be careful not to slip and fall on your drool though...
Another insult? It would be nice if this place was moderated or something?

This is your go to insult. I’m very used to it by now. Care to add to the discussion? Or is it just more atheist bad.

So this earth is the prison?
And the punishment is bad things happening

Yes God gave us free will, it was His gift to us

I am not sure I understand your argument yet

If God created free will, is it really "free"?

Why does it end with an invocation of the Egyptian Sun God, Amen-Ra? Is that who the prayer is for?

Nobody says amen ra at the end of a prayer...
It’s just Amen from the Hebrew which means certainty...
In English the translation is accepted as... so be it...

So you dont believe you are autonomous
You believe you are controlled?

What do you expect free will to be?

and your go to insult is
"but many christians still hold on to many of the old testament teachings, rules, and stories." "So i have no problem lumping them all into one bucket sometimes."

So I am doing exactly what you do Woodie, generalising, lumping you all in one bucket, well, its ok for you to do so why not me?

How can you not see how stupid your argument is when you try and belittle me for generalising, the same thing, for copying you

That bunch did away with the ten commandments too

They, not unlike the other cults......have their own special Bible........allowing idol worship. Can't do it with a KJV....

DONT YA KNOW

So tell me about their version of the ten commandments

The freedom to vote for who our theocratic authority ought to be and exactly how much power they are allowed to possess and exercise, setting up a system of oversight and regular review of activities, an established method of approaching and engaging this authority, typical "power of the people" stuff. Not a monarchy. At this rate, it's a naive assumption that an omnipotent force capable of genocide would honor their word without some form of leverage. Particularly when they believe they are incapable of making mistakes or unjustly causing harm.

You want the power to vote the god you want into power
That’s funny, you want to decide who is in charge like you are the all powerful

I got a feeling philosophy isn’t on your agenda
I have a feeling you blame God when things don’t go your way, funny atheist

Anyway, voting for a god of your choice is irrelevant to free will, I don’t think you have thought this through.
Free will is not voting on who God is anymore than voting who the president is

Hey GB
I don’t keep the Ten Commandments as such or religiously
I am just wondering about the other laws in Leviticus, do you keep all them as well
I mean all the laws that were given to the Jews or can you pick and choose what you like

If you pick and choose what you like, what do you base picking and choosing what you want to keep and what you dismiss on.

Who decides what’s the baby and what’s bath water when it comes to Gods laws

Why shouldn't god be treated like a public servant instead of a dictator? Speaking as an American, we have a history of dealing with people like that. If you want to own people and control their fate, you are a menace to free will on general principle.

So God controls your fate in this world, wouldn’t that be the opposite to free will
How does God own people, yes you could say He owns me but that’s my choice, I am in debt to Him by free will.

Clearly you are not owned, you seem to be excercising your free will by not believing

The US does have a history of dealing with people like that, again, they have a free will to do that
The US gets to vote their representatives into power, evil, greedy corrupt lot they are
How’s that going for you

You haven’t offered any solutions just had a moan because you don’t get your own way

Just for mine, God is a public servant I don’t see any dictator about Him

There is this promise one day He will clean sin from our lives, stop the pain and hurt and bring rest
Right now we don’t have that because our will is the opposite to Gods

Your bible says you don't have a choice. Everything is preordained. Maybe it is God's will that atheists be permitted to exist so you continue to believe in the illusion. What would you do if there was no such thing as real choice except God's choice? That's what a dictator is, especially if he controls every particle of existence from beginning to end. Being all powerful and willing to use that power to reduce an entire civilization to a handful of slaves on a boat. And you don't think democracy at least gives us the civil rights we deserve as living thinking creatures? Who is God to take that away from us?
