If you ever find yourself in California,
head to Newport beach ( LA ) - there is a place there with the BEST crab cakes !

I also still remember the clam chowder I had at Disneyland of all places !

Ha! I have crabcakes in the freezer. We have a Newport in Rhode Island with fabulous seafood. Hell, we have fabulous seafood all over the place. I don't have to travel all the way to California.

2005.

Spent 5 weeks there and loved every second of it !
We stopped there on the way home after spending 4 weeks in Brazil ( hence my mystery meat reference )

Did not love Brazil ( Rio / Copacabana ) ...

Wow, cool! You're from a different Country and got to see California and I'm from the U.S and have barely been anywhere.

We flew West to East over the US on the way over then from Washington to LA on the way back.

I could not believe how much farmland and cultivation that is right across the US !

When you fly West to East across Aus. it is mainly desert and not much else !



ED: We also saw the grand canyon, Yosemite national park, monument valley , meteor crater ( not far from Flagstaff Az. ) Got married In a drive through chapel in Vegas ( we had a brand new Mustang convertible for our trip ) then on to San Fran via Monterey ( Clint Eastwood was Mayor ) big sur , pebble beach etc.

I had a blast !!

I'm in the Northeast of the U.S. We are called the ocean State and we are the tiniest State of all.

You are fortunate to live by the ocean. Deserts are inhospitable and boring as hell.

We drove through the Mojave desert.

We actually saw 4 states, Cali, Nevada, Arizona and Utah ( no escaping the heat for me ! Lol )
