Out of these PlayStation 1 RPG's do you like the most, and why?

Final Fantasy 7
Final Fantasy 8
Final Fantasy 9
Legend of Dragoon
Xenogears


Mine in high school was always Final Fantasy 7 because basically it blew me away being my first RPG with a great story.

Lately though I rekindled my romance with Xenogears. The in depth storyline and character development. The downfall is that they had a low budget and having to rush disc 2. I just thought it was fun, and I understand more that 2nd and 3rd time around.

Final Fantasy 8 is great don't get me wrong I just didn't appreciate the battle system the first time I played it. Again like all squaresoft games had a great storyline.

With Final Fantasy 9 you can't go wrong. It was fun characters and great graphics. IDK I just wish there was something more...

Legend of Dragoon I recently played. It was fun having a more interactive battle system but the story wasn't as great as I was hoping...

I know they are mostly Squaresoft games but what other ones were there, Squaresoft dominated the field. Squaresoft lost its edge for greatness when they became SquareEnix in my humble opinion.

So yea, tell me what you think and why.

I loved 7 but 8 was my favorite and 9 i never played so I can’t say much about it.

I really liked 8 more because of the graphics(I know that is poopy to say) and the story really got me. And I also really loved pounding the “select” button like a mad man!

Always loved FF 3 and Dragon warrior. LOL Damm Im old..

8 was great! but a lot of people hated Rinoa apparently, I learned that while watching a ff8 speedrun on twitch. I never really had a problem with her until everyone was pointing out that she always creates problems. lol

They released ff3 on playstation with ff4 I think but never got around to playing it...

That is rare liking racing games and RPG's … at least I think so.

Xenogears. But I never got to finish it since I rushed to the ending and I wasn't able to beat the final boss. I wish I had bought a copy. I still have FF7 though. Never finished that one either.

My all time fave PS1 game is Bushido Blade 2.

Yea they put more effort into the coolness factor into ff8, prolly because ff7 did so great.

I get why you didn't finish Xenogears… but ff7, that is a travesty!

FF9 and xenogears are my favourites on that list. Didn't like 8. 7 was alright but kinda overrated I think. I think i've played legend of dragoon but i'm not sure.
