The actual 'present' is far too fleeting for us even to sense or measure

Are you not present for everything that you see and hear?

You will never see or hear anything that is not happening in your presence.

Sorry, I was just watching the instant replay of the footy highlights on the telly.

What were you saying?

Can that which is hearing ever be heard? Can that which is seeing ever be seen?
So strange that the seeing/knowing presence gets overlooked!

Nothing can appear outside the seeing/knowing presence.

But it seems that concepts like 'Jesus' and 'Buddha' and 'things' that happened in 'time' are blinding the vision.

I've always wondered that if you ate yourself, would you become a haggis, or a black hole?

Nah, I was out getting another beer but my mate, Jean Paul Satre, yelled out that the highlights were on and I should get back before Plato changed the channel to his favorite cave wall shadow play show.

And Rene Descartes was all teary because Fred Nietzsche was causing him ennui.

I know, footy night around here is cray cray...!

Everyone?

Besides it was probably for more than just the message.

They got the wrong Jesus. The crowd were encouraged to chose Yeshua Bar Rabbas, not Yeshua Bar Joseph.

Here is one big flaw in your premise. You can’t explain spiritual truths in words, not really.

I say this not as a fount of truth but as an attempted connoisseur of truth. I may not know truth myself but I recognize it when I experience it.

I do think you know what you’re talking about, but its almost like you’re assaulting us with the truth you know.

There must be some ego need there to MAKE us understand. If any of this made you angry then for sure its ego involvement ( as you know already .)

Text So I have another question regarding the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone. If these acts are not done by the soul of the person but by the snake that entraps them, then why punish the soul and not the snake?

Nazarene's believe that the soul is this terrestrial body and the soul is controlled by the brain. The brain is controlled by the mind. The mind is called the spirit. Our prophets called this mind the spark of life. As I am sitting here typing this post, my mind is an independent source of energy which is dictating my actions to my brain. My brain is nothing but receptors of the minds desires which control the physicality of my terrestrial body.

As my earthly body will one day die, it leaves my mind [spirit] as a naked, independent source of conscious energy. It is this which is judged as to condemnation or justification. The mind [spirit] is judged and punished or judged and rewarded as to its control of the brain.

When the mind [spirit] is condemned to the hell of Sheol, it is deprived of the authority it had as well as no longer being in fellowship with the Creator. This is the punishment of being a naked spirit. Jesus teaches that this punishment is not eternal. In the last day when all terrestrial substances are destroyed, the condemned spirits of hell are then cast into the lake of destruction and are believed [by the Nazarene's] to be annihilated. By this is meant the condemned no longer have consciousness even though their image and spiritual substances continue to exist as a determent to all. [Isaiah 66:24]

I assume that you reference soul as the spirit. Not sure as to your meaning of soul or snake. Would you explain that meaning to me>?

Is belief better than knowing for sure? Why build a belief made of anything? Find what is true.

There are two types of truths, absolute and relative. Absolute truths are something we all can agree on, that there is oxygen in the atmosphere. Relative truths are relative to the observer. I might say its cold outside but an Eskimo will perceive it as warm. But relative truths not only encompass our different perceptions, they also abide to the duality of nature (ying and yang), How can we know light without darkness, type of thing. So something might not be absolutely true or false but a combination of both.

So when we are discussing Jesus spiritually, we are dealing with relative truths. If Jesus is God, then how do we each perceive God etc. We each therefore have different truths.

Thanks for explaining. I find it surprising that our concepts are so different.

I adopt hindu belief, that our soul (our spirit) is seated in the heart. It battles our ego (ego being the snake) for control of our mind. That souls only return to hell for the time it takes to resolve accumulated negative actions (karma). With enough accumulated positive actions, from previous rebirths, we are born as awakened guru's or dakini's (spiritual teacher).

So hell is not seen as retribution but a place where the soul can re-learn righteous behaviour.
