The Day the Earth Stood Still is a good old classic, even the remake in 2008.

en.wikipedia.org...

I feel like more then anything , this will be the scenario.

I watched Communion with Christopher Walken back when I was like 12, and I still have trouble watching that one over 30 years later. I read Whitley streiber's books after watching the movie, and came to the conclusion he was probably full of it, but that movie was so extremely creepy I did not sleep for days after watching. Christopher Walken can make any story weird and creepy, though.

My favorite part was actually the beginning of the movie. That intro was really cool; very well conceived and very well delivered. The rest of the movie was pale in comparison to that beginning. It actually gave me chills.

I honestly love you guys.

Just when you thought you had seen everything ATS members deliver.

I have a huge list of films to make my way through, thanks all, really appreciate it.

I appreciate your thread as I love these types of movies myself. Though I have seen probably most of them, there are some I haven't, so I will be following the thread for more suggestions. Thank you

I thought the premise of this movie was intreesting:

Planet Earth is a giant farm where people are harvested to make immortality drugs for the cosmetic industries of Extraterrestrial Mega-Corporations.

If you want a really campy experience, check this British gem out. Great series. I love the skimpy outfits and the unapologetic sexism of the 60s:

Ah, the good ole days....

If you're a book worm like myself there are many but I recently ran into one called NOT ALONE by Craig A Falconer, it's pretty good. Basically this guy manages to come across some information about alien contact and so decides to start speaking up and sets up a press conference. Its a lot better than it sounds.

This is the plot (Stole it from a certain website): When Dan McCarthy stumbles upon a folder containing evidence of the conspiracy to end all conspiracies -- a top-level alien cover-up -- he leaks the files without a second thought. The incredible truth revealed by Dan’s leak immediately captures the public’s imagination, but Dan’s relentless commitment to exposing the cover-up and forcing disclosure quickly earns him some enemies in high places. For his whole life, Dan McCarthy has searched for a reason to believe. Now that he finally has one, he might soon wish he didn’t..

Yes!! I love Interstellar! It is a great movie!

Yes! I love that movie! Also Close Encounters and the War of the World remake with Tom Cruise.

There's another interesting movie I can't remember the name of..... something to do with Europa.... Europa Report? I don't remember if it's any good but it might be worth checking out.

This is another good one - there's one particular scene where an abductee, under hypnosis, is taken over (during the session) by an alien claiming to be the Annunaki - it's trippy, especially the static/electric-like voice of the entity, and the particular way it was filmed.

I think you'll like it.

Starring Milla Jovovich

Falling Skies - TV Series - Good Alien Invasion Stuff terrible series ending though. I say, watch every single episode until the series finale, and then just don't watch the finale.

^ If you like that, you might would like "Under the Dome"

Battles Los Angeles - with muh boi, aaron eckhart

Arrival isn't on your list? Get to it.

The Signal isn't on your list? - You just might want to make this one your next movie. It's worth the slow build.
Most people think the movie sucks for about 15 minutes. After that, you won't be able to stop watching it.

also, mcpherson tapes (both versions)
Abducted - The North Carolina Mt Brown one (I found it mostly meh, but it's a nice indie take.)

One of the V/H/S movies has a good alien scenario

Arrival with Charlie Sheen - Seriously, one of his best moments

OH gotta remember Communion also. It has the opposite of Christopher Reeves in it

If you like Contact, you might also like FRB121102
It has an interesting relationship with pi and some prime numbers. I don't feel like talking about it now, but it's the closest thing I've ever seen.

Battleship - You gotta see that one at some point

If it hasn't been recommended yet, DEFINITELY check out the new movie, Annihilation.

Other honorable mentions:

V: The Series (2009-2011)
Pandorum (2009)
The Signal (2014)
Dark City (1998)
Skinwalker Ranch (2013)
Arrival (2016) - [Not to be confused with the previously-recommended "The Arrival," from 1996. Both unrelated, but both good.]

Amazing script, amazing acting, all-around amazing movie.

One of the best fight scenes in movie history, too!

Twilight zone is a must for scifi junkies. A popular ep To Serve Man

Safety not guaranteed

Ex machina

The matrix 1 absolutely stop at 1 and dont even attempt the sequels

The predator movies the first and the last one skip 2. Even predator vs alien was good
