The Justice Department responded to House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes’ latest deadline, telling him he already has the “documents and answers” he has been inquiring about.
“Your letter asks whether the Department and the FBI ‘intend to obey’ the law. We believe that is exactly what the Department and the FBI have been doing responding to the Committee’s subpoenas and requests,” wrote Assistant Attorney General Stephen Boyd in a Monday letter obtained by the Washington Examiner.

"There's going to be floor action this week," Meadows said on Fox News. "We will be voting to compel DOJ and FBI to make sure that they get those documents to Congress."
Meadows said Congress has subpoenaed the Justice Department for documents, but said it has only received 1,400 of the 50,000 documents it has demanded.

This Thursday, Rosenstein and FBI Director Christopher Wray will come head-to-head with lawmakers at a hearing scheduled with the House Judiciary Committee. The two are expected to testify about growing concerns that senior members of the FBI were biased and mishandled the bureau’s investigation into alleged collusion between members of President Trump’s campaign and Russia.
Specifically, the lawmakers want to know if the DOJ and FBI used informants to spy on the Trump campaign, how many were used, and if they were used, how much it cost the taxpayers.

A group of nine House Republican lawmakers has signed a letter asking Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein to provide the names of everyone "past and present" who has worked on Special Counsel Robert Mueller's Russia investigation.
The lawmakers say they are "disturbed" by the initial appointments to the probe of agents and attorneys with an anti-Trump bias. Their letter specifically references agent Peter Strzok, attorney Lisa Page and attorney Kevin Clinesmith.
"We know that these biases were shared among multiple people at the FBI and could be easily uncovered by Mr. Mueller with simple vetting," the letter says. "These individuals should not have been given an opportunity to influence – directly or indirectly – this special counsel investigation."
The letter also adds that the lawmakers are concerned that "there may be more politically biased investigators" working on Mueller's team.
Republicans have said they believe Clinesmith is the attorney identified in DOJ Inspector General Michael E. Horowitz's report on the Hillary Clinton email investigation as "Attorney 2." The Horowitz report, released earlier this month, includes messages from "Attorney 2" lamenting Trump's election as well as a missive reading "viva le resistance."
I have a feeling that a "warrant" of some kind will be needed to force Rod Rosenstein to supply what Congress asked for today, too.

I heard they have been handing out FISA warrants for about anything. Would that work?
Maybe because the legal grounds for doing so are questionable?
But for some reason, Congress is afraid to ask them questions directly.
We can all recognize that Congress has a legitimate interest in obtaining information which will assist in the legislative process. But the efforts to obtain information may not threaten judicial independence or the established principle that a judge’s judicial acts cannot serve as a basis for his removal from office.

Its always made me laugh, the very idea that anything that happens in either the DoJ or the FBI has any root in leftist ideology. Given that the DoJ and the FBI both have, or have had units specifically in place to prevent the spread of anything like leftist ideology taking root in American culture, I am baffled beyond belief that this sort of nonsense flies with any of the members here.
