A major quake will buckle the roads near fault zones. Pipes will fail. Electrical power lines above the streets are supposed to be resilient, since
they have slack between poles. power and natural gas may be nocked out for days or weeks.
But the biggest problem is the state water project. with 15 major dams and multiple aqueducts and pump stations, much of the SWP will go offline for
weeks.
The flight from an earthquake may progress slowly at first, but build as days go by without water, and people begin to flee without any prep for the
desert...
