Yes, we are Florida, and everyday we prove how special we are

Folks around the Lake Worth area were warned of a zombie outbreak early Sunday morning.

The alert, issued at 1:41 a.m., was meant to inform residents about a power outage but had been changed to reference the popular AMC television series The Walking Dead.

City officials said the alert system was working properly but seemed to have been hacked. They are looking for who is responsible.

"We are looking into the reports that the system mentioned zombies. I want to reiterate that Lake Worth does not have any zombie activity currently and apologize for the system message," wrote Ben Kerr, the city’s communication director, on a Facebook post to Lake Worth Live.

He reported the power outage only lasted for 27 minutes.

Before anybody goes on about zombies arent real, Florida has already had a case of the zombies twice, Rudy Eugene in Miami and Austin Harrouff in Martin County.

Notice the city official said they don't have a zombie outbreak currently.

Lock and load ladies and gents, the zombie apocalypse is approaching!

It's only a matter of time. It's simple math, or something.

It is true...

All the best zombie outbreaks happen when the power goes out.

Let us hope it does not happen nation wide over a long period.

Very possible.

I noticed that it said the power would be out for 3 hrs..

If their power did not go out for 3 hrs then they were not in the INFECTED area.

I think the sad part is that they had to tell residents there were no zombies.

Power goes out for 3 hours, the zombies look up from their phones and scream "INTERNET!!! IN-TER- NET!!!"

And then all shamble into a Starbucks for the duration.

It wouldn't be so sad if it was your state that has had zombie attacks. We do have. Right to believe and prepare for such nonsense.

I'm not entirely convinced one should be so dismissive 🤔
