The truth about socialism... time and time again..

Apparently the recent fiasco with Venezuela's dictator Maduro robbing the country of its gold (by shipping it overseas, where only he can touch it) wasn't enough to convince leftist S. American kleptocracies to stop stealing from their people in true socialist/communist fashion.

In Brazil, Democrat and dictator Temer has implemented a scheme through complex organizations/funneling to enrich himself and a small group of socialist beneficiaries.

The charges, referring to what is called the 'Major MDB criminal gang' were originally presented to the Federal Supreme Court in September of last year by then Federal General Prosecutor, Rodrigo Janot, against Temer and some of his most important allies, like former President of the Congress Eduardo Cunha (RJ) and Henrique Eduardo Alves (RN), as well as former minister Geddel Vieira Lima (BA) and former congressman Rodrigo Rocha Loures (PR), who was flagrantly captured on film by the Federal Police running with a suitcase full of money for JBS Corporation.

The prosecutor alleged the existence of an organization that diverted funds from many public entities, among them the Caixa Econômica Federal Bank, the Furnas Hydroelectric Complex, the Ministry of National Integration and the House of Representatives. According to the prosecutor, party members would have received at least R$ 587 million (US$ 172 million) in bribes through the scheme. Those accused have denied participation in illicit activities.

Failed ideologies disgust me, as do their apologists living in this country. Turns my stomach thinking of these folks. Truly.

Time for various right-wing/military (same thing) coup's to "happen." Allowing any population to live under a tyrannical left-wing socialist government is tantamount to torture/mass murder/genocide/global destruction - it is one of the worst and most insufferable plagues you can put on another living creature.

I wouldn't let a stray varmint live under socialist rule - they'd rob it blind, and brainwash it to believe they were doing it a favor. If South America can't keep socialism out of the continent, perhaps the question should be asked whether they're worthy of running a territory located in such a sensitive proximity to the United States? After all, their political mistakes over the last century has put us in a national security emergency more than once (not just their massive narcotics/drugs, violence, rapists) but harboring nuclear weapons and threatening the US on behalf of other joke socialists/communists.

I don't know if I get it wrong, but actually we don't have a socialism system here and Temer is a right-wing.

I don't even think we can label our system at the current days. It's all a mix of a pretty f# up people with different ideologies and a common thought: steal the more money they can.

We don't need another right-wing-military intervention, we've had that years ago with the dictature. We need a reboot, as the rest of the world needs.

It's all so impregnated by now there's nowhere to run.

Is it socialism when to big to fail banks are bailed out, Oil companies receive taxpayer subsidies even though obscene profits, is it socialism when we support other countries with taxpayer dollars in foreign aid,

Is is socialism when a bloated military funnels taxpayer dollars to nonexistent private contractors.

But let's cutback medicaid to the elderly...even the threat of this will bring out the geezers to vote and the GOP can forget about being a viable political influence.

Socialism is an economy system just like capitalism.

When US lefties ask for socialism... Maybe we need to be more specific. There are different kinds of socialism.

It's great that you hit us with the red herrings that are failed socialism constructs.

However... What I think most of us MEAN... Is Democratic Socialism. The type that has been successfully executed in the following nation's:

Sweden
Denmark
Norway
Finland

Watch some videos, research statistics, and look at examples of how those countries are operate. They also have very healthy economies.

Free Education including University, high quality education
Massive public assistance programs
Universal Healthcare

These countries do it right.

If we can execute those systems here in the US, everyone would be better off

A) socialism as defined by the dictionary is every time taxes from some or all are used to the benefit of all or some..


Aka police, fire , the military, roads, exc everything taxes are used for that “benefits” the public..

So ATLEAST half of EVERY society in history is socialist..

B) a 100% capitalist society has never even been attempted..


It is propaganda for dumb people.. instead of having to actually debate a proposal. They point and say socialism hoping people will hate it without ever measuring the benefits..


C) all the Nordic countries are as close to socialist as ANYWHERE in the planet and they have the best EVERYTHING, but military..


D) all the eastern (ussr) type socialists have been HEAVILY sanctioned.. so is it really fair to compare with countries most of the world have shunned economically at our behest???

Conclusion:

I think different technology and/or societal levels have made differing economic systems more or less effective..

In a huntergather society you don’t need a global market... survival is on a knifes edge so everyone shares or everyone dies..


Once trade began expanding money was needed. So capitalism has slowly crept in to fill the void of luxury items and became more relevant..


Presently, as automation continues to make human labor more and more irrelevant. Capitalism will become untenable..

Buisnesses are there to make a profit.. not to employ people.. not to circulate money in an economy..

So it goes without saying that if a robot is cheaper. Every buisness on the planet will use robots..


For example.. self driving cars..

40% or American jobs are driving cars..

That technology is already here..

That means 40% of American jobs are about to vanish overnight..

Your quoted material never mentions socialists. They describe corruption. You then make the case that all of that is due to socialism. Granted that is an easy mistake to make in the current political confusion. What is not confusing is the statement you made above.
