The trouble with your statement is as follows...

LOADS of stuff is decided by decidedly emotional means, and nearly no one bats an eye.

The trouble with your statement is that it rambles on about topics about which I'm not discussing and that it doesn't negate my claim, nor does it have anything to do with my point. I don't care if things are decided upon by emotional means, my point is that they should not be. I KNOW that they often are, but that is not what I was claiming nor discussing.

The rest of your comment discusses nothing that I mentioned, either, it's just you ranting about things with which you disagree.

The reason that this particular situation matters is because it is children speaking out relatively unintelligently about a complex situation that they simply just don't understand fully yet, and that goes for both sides of the equation. Furthermore, it's increasingly looking like these comments that they're making are being cultivated by ideologues, and these kids are being used as political tools.

That's much more heinous, IMO, than an old man hyper-focused on the illegality of weed.

So, Teens are not mentally stable, and don't have the where with all to own guns until they are 21, but they are mentally stable and capable at 17 to tell us where we are wrong so we should listen to them?!

They are being used as tools for the progressive/socialist propaganda/agenda. It is sad to use victims to rile up anger.

And to those that can't see this, have another tide pod, that is what these super smart (but too dangerous to own a gun) kids are doing. Start by following there lead

Truth is subjective.

The Truth by definition is objective. Otherwise it is called opinion.

Students who were hunted and watched their classmates hunted to death, who filmed it and shared it, granting us the opportunity to experience their trauma first-hand have a very compelling "life experience set" that is every bit as valid as yours or mine.

Their cause is just as just as yours. Whether you agree with it or not, the first amendment is at least as important as the second.

It's sad that ATS has come to the point where the words of neo-Nazis are more valuable than the words of our potential future leaders. After Charlottesville we were told how even neo-Nazis should be free to speak their minds regardless of how vile their words may be. We see the same thing anytime a Richard Spencer speech gets shut down at a university.

But when kids want to talk about something that directly affects them they're told to shut up and sit down. I wouldn't be surprised if we have members on here that were the same people wishing death on these kids when they went to the Florida capital or DC.

Way to go ATS. Keep it classy.

Then why are they using their first A right to take away my second A right?

Apple and oranges. Saying that one has to right to be heard is not the same as agreeing with what one says. This discussion is not about those kids' right to be heard. It is about the fact that it is being propped up by CNN and others with a political agenda, taking advantage of the emotions of the moment.

First of all no one is telling them to sit down and shut up The POINT of this thread is that they are being USED without fully looking at or understanding ALL the FACTS Students should be able to recognize that as well they don't and the ADULTS are wholly responsable. Look at the former president of the USA's tweet and tell me it's not propaganda, manipulated, discordant agenda driven.

Because all teenagers eat tide pods.

Using your logic, these kids aren't smart enough to tell us where they're right but they should be allowed to own firearms - unfettered.

This is why nothing will ever be done about mass shootings in America.

People want to push a narrative, nothing more.

But hey, I heard Donny wants to do something about those blasted video games and movies. I'm sure that's going to take care of mass shootings.

Neo-Nazi mantras are no different than the SJW mantras, only the opposite polarity.

And SJW's are allowed to flourish around here so long as they dont break the T&C.

Being a Neo-Nazi is against the T&C.

And yet the SJW's (Nu-Nazi's aka Pretty Hate Machine) complain and gripe about this place being some kind of far right pit, and all of us against their BS (which is everybody but liberals & SJW's) in here are being called Nazi's right now (on a non-SJW issue no less).

Brilliant!!!

Imagine that. A group that wishes equality for all is allowed on this site while a group that espouses the death of millions is not allowed.

But you're right. That must mean ATS is a haven for those on the Left while the Right must hide in the shadows never letting the admins know who they really are.

The funny thing is that you pretty much just admitted that neo-Nazi ideology is endemic to Right Wing ideology. I mean why else would you use the fact that overt Nazis aren't allowed on this site as a reason to try to argue that it isn't more welcoming towards those on the Right?
