Enough is enough. Public massacres and school shootings must stop.

I gave a solution and you shat all over it because it didn't include a gun ban.

*flips Willtell the bird*

Nonsense. I did no such thing.

Id be willing to listen to anything.

You want guns in every school, Id try that.

Today I went to a HS where they have armed cops

maybe that will work

Will you be willing to abandon that if it doesn't work and try something else?

You are lying. I never said that we need guns in all the schools.

These kids have no coping mechanisms. They have no problem-solving skills.

They react to societal stresses in a juvenile fashion. They use guns.

They use guns because they don't know how to cope.

If we teach them how to cope, then they won't need to use guns to solve their perceived problems.

My solution is to teach the children coping skills.

My solution is to teach problem solving skills.

These adolescents need to learn how to "adult".

Our society does not teach that.

Yes it does. They have drills where you have to go hide in a closet.

No one gets in without id and a reason
The doors are locked

There are armed cops in the High schools

A regular guard on every floor in all the schools.

They take care of business.

But nothing is full proof

Like an outright ban on any and all weapons?

And you would get around the 2nd amendment how? ignore it? shred the constitution?

I’m not God, I don’t have a sure solution, I do have an opinion but would be willing to try intelligent means to deal with this issue outside of my solution.

Would you be willing to do the same thing?

In a country where guns are a right I'm not sure what the compromise would be to make things better with or without the 2nd involved. A couple of things we do know is cities and places that outlaw guns have the worst gun issues, and there is a failure in the system identifying people with or without guns involved. I can kill more people with a semi than a gun as example.

It doesn’t have to be laws.

How about a massive public campaign for the unity of the country

An educational campaign to be more civil and caring to each other

We sell soap, sex, drugs why not love, understanding, hope, healing.

If this crazy nut saw a sign saying WE LOVE YOU

Maybe, just maybe he might have stopped.

Overtime that may work

Just like locks on doors, laws are only for honest people. Locks don't stop burglars and more laws won't stop criminals.

Let's just get rid of laws. Make murder legal. Make rape legal. Why not.

Laws don't stop them, so let's get rid of the laws that don't prevent.

Laws are present to deal with people who violate the social norms. The punishment for breaking those laws is suppose to be the deterrent. The point is laws dont matter to a person who has decided to ignore them and those laws dont matter to a person who is faced with an active shooter.

We don't need seatbelts or speed limits or dui laws or pilots licenses or material safety data sheets or etc et etc... whatever dude.

Wanna try that again and maybe make sense this time?

Your deterrent seems to be murder laws, I am suggesting gun laws. Pretty straightforward

We have gun laws, which the shooter violated.

So I ask what is the point your trying to make?

Our society is sick and needs help, needs solutions.

Lets try another approach than just arguing the same old stuff

Ok.

First? STOP BLAMING THE GUN!

Second? STOP coddling the children. Stop babying the children. Stop isolating the children. Stop giving them a ####ing trophy every time they take a crap!

Life is hard. Bullying exists. Peer groups exist. YOU WON'T ALWAYS GET YOUR WAY!

TEACH your children to COPE with societal stresses in a more appropriate way than shooting up a god-damned school!

There.

There's your god-damned solutions.

geez, DB.....don't worry, nothing will change, there will be plenty of school massacres, and mass shootings in the future to talk about......

Bravo! This is definitely part of the problem. Part.

But seriously, you you have to be in good moral standing to have a driver's license. Your ducks have to be in a row, you have to be responsible.

I wholeheartedly agree kids these days are pampered, coddled and not taught how to cope with life. But can we agree that making guns the same level of difficulty as a vehicle? Plenty of people can own cars, but it's mostly responsible people for a reason.

Exactly, Look at England. A knife or a bat can be just as deadly as a gun

So You should be able to post links and show all the stabbings in schools in England where 20 odd kids are killed by knife wielding maniacs on a regular basis .....?

IF that were tried, I don’t know, Id have to research that.

But I don’t think a ban on all weapons is a solution necessarily.

In Israel and what is it Switzerland everybody has a gun, but they don’t gun each other like Americans do

Where are all the psychologists, why don’t they come and research this madness and come up with some solutions?

You're right.

because our ####ed up society won't go after the cause of shootings, they'll just go after the god-damned weapon.

They don't want to stop the shootings.

If a dumbass like me can figure out that we have generations of people that can't cope with stresses or solve issues non-violently, then I can only conclude that there are those that want the shootings to continue.

They just want to ban guns.

An unarm,ed security officer was present for todays shooting as as far as I heard he stood in the line of fire to protect students. However his presence was not a deterrent .

At the press conference currently going on media asked why they don't have armed officers present and if they have plans to introduce them. The Sheriff stated the obvious that has been pointed out - A person intent on doing something like this does not care about those things.

IMO an armed presence may have prevented this incident from occurring or kept injuries / fatalities down.

I just had to go through a complete background check for a 1911 I recently purchased.

What else to you want?

A prostate exam?

Look man, we may have to change or be destroyed.

Do you realize the utter enormity of what’s going on?

Change can happen if we realize we have to change

If we don’t then we may suffer the consequences

Imagine the suffering of the parents and siblings of those 17 victims…

What we do in America, all the viciousness is not worth it, probably

Israel has their own violence problems I their house.

Switzerland has had the same isolationist and neutral state for over a century.

Switzerland hasn't had their politics bought out to appease imperialism at the cost of the tax payer.

The only way that's worked here is we've all been tought to argue with each other. Anyone not in our camp of thought is obviously wrong about everything. We don't find issues to agree on if someone is from the other tribe. They're always wrong.

It gets hateful after a while, and kids don't learn the same sense of community we're forgeting.

Makes sense, my dumb mind can figure that out. Moments after the shooting was reported on the msm the divide and conquer began in our politics.

Social media began the pretty hate machine on guns democrats blamed republicans, republicans blamed the liberal arts..

BUT NO ONE DARED wonder, why did this guy go into a school and want to kill kids...

Sick

We should be ashamed....

Because unlike Nazi Germany in the 1930's-1940's we cannot force anyone to see a mental health expert just because. Even judges are restricted in that they can only order an evaluation but in the end it is up to the doctor in question about a persons mental health status and even then the laws on the books limit what can be done.

An outright ban can not happen unless the 2nd amendment is removed and I dont see that happening.

Maybe in Israel and Switzerland it is known everyone is armed and that an attempt to cause harm can result in the perpetrators death?

What?

What is going on?

People doing what they have been doing for thousands of years?

Think you can change human nature?

Nope.

Not even if you create a Mars-size set of laws.
