It is a trap, one that you should avoid if just sight seeing. Also if you decide to try stocks, don't go crazy with it. Keep the paradoxes to a minimum so you don't wind up in a confusing self healing temporal Trojan horse situation, where you only partially exist.

Dearest OP. I completely agree. The Lottery is a trap to catch time travellers, and I have evidence. I watched the movie "The Island" a few years ago, and in that, there is a lottery for these people living in a commune, which was created to ensure they are not infected by the deadly outside world. This lottery is their means to leave the commune and enter into a paradise full of cool blue seas and a lush green island, free of this deadly disease.

But when I saw the movie again the other day, it had THE SAME PEOPLE... How can they have been the same? I conclude that they are indeed time travellers, that had travelled from a few years ago, to the other day. Caught by the lottery.
