Have you ever pulled up to a light in California and looked down at the pavement ? What you likely see are hundreds of cigarette butts.
Residents are pretty cavalier with tossing butts, and most are still combusting. Just a possible source.

So the catalytic converter could start a brush fire and not affect the plastics in dash boards...hmmmm..

Pretty much a universal application. Like duct tape and WD-40.

You two have some curious ways of having a good time, but whatever turns your crank.

Duct tape leaves a nasty residue and WD-40 is good solvent.
Everybody knows that.

The destruction being wrought by these fires is incredible, and devastating no doubt, to those who live in the areas affected. Those who have lost loved ones, and indeed homes and businesses, have my sincerest sympathies. I hope that the insurance companies are going to be reasonable about this, and work with communities to rebuild them, rather than fleece the people who have been paying premiums on their lives, property and livelihoods.

Its one of these...

en.wikipedia.org...

As for the possibility of a catalytic converter being hot enough to burn brush, but leave plastics on a dashboard untouched... yes, of course, because the catalytic converter is no where near the dashboard, and is separated from it by several different insulating mediums, whereas the cat can be in direct contact with low lying brush, in the event that a car pulls off the road. Its also worth pointing out that brush has a lower ignition temperature than do the plastics in a dashboard, generally speaking.

California can burn to the ground for all I care. I would like nothing better than to see Hollywierd go up in smoke....LA cleansed of its plight..... San Fransisco turned into smoldering ash.... I'd even bring a bag of marshmallows to roast.

Oh how it would fill my heart with joy.... to see the high and mighty lose everything they have that makes them believe that they are fit to point fingers.

I am getting kinda tired of waiting for the Big One to hit and giving the people of California something else to worry about besides what other people in other states are doing and who we are electing.... so a huge fire, sweeping across the state destroying everything is sight works for me for the time being.

If you are reading this and happen to live in Cali.... it is nothing personal against you.... it's just that collectively you guys are annoying. ..... I hope all your $500,000 2 bedroom bungalos get wiped out, your insurance companies go bankrupt covering the damages..... and everything gets replaced with things real people can really afford

You disgust me.

There are human beings, no richer or more entitled than you or I, living in the regions you are talking about, and all you can do is celebrate their potential deaths as collateral damage?

The hell with you... utterly objectionable.

But not me. Okay!

Remember when liberals were saying the hurricane in Texas was karma for voting for Trump?

'Nuff said.

What's a catalytic converter?

It's connected to the flux capacitor.
