I liked how the election of Obama took away a lazy excuse for POC not to have ambitions that go as high as being the President of the US. There is no teacher or mother or other authority figure that can say to a kid from a minority, "Well, you can work as hard as you can, but you'll never be President." No more excuses that the prevailing culture will stop you from succeeding at whatever you shoot for. Of course, you can still massively fail on a personal level, but you can't blame the culture.
