Just how many people are third Gender? I've never met one? Or even know one? (I know a lot of people!!)

Has the world gone mad or are they all confined to Germany?

Here's a link to the page with multiple stories. Just scroll through, but I have sniped above.

You haven't seen one because there is no third gender.

So, when this child become older, they will be able to complain that the doctor didn't assign a gender?

And people wonder why we don't want to adopt more European crap here in the U.S.

No thanks.

This is for Intersex children.

Kids who are borne with both male and female characteristics.

It's more common than you might think.

"Here's what we do know: If you ask experts at medical centers how often a child is born so noticeably atypical in terms of genitalia that a specialist in sex differentiation is called in, the number comes out to about 1 in 1500 to 1 in 2000 births."

But sure, yeah, waaaaaaah, toilets.

I'm assuming this is relative to hermaphrodites. Certainly it is a rare situation and one that used to dealt with by assigning a sex at birth. This quite often entailed the mutilation of the child's genitals. I'm not sure how pressing of a problem it is in Germany but as long as it is relegated to these individuals, I have no philosophical objection to it. It's certainly better than German solutions in the past.

I really don't get the proliferation of "genders". Biologically there are two, except in some rare case of genetics mutation.

I do get how people can identify as more masculine or feminine than their gender, but that doesn't make it a new gender, in my opinion.

Actually, now that I fully comprehend the article, my comment is rather off topic, as the article is specifically addressing these genetic mutations.

As already mentioned, this is for intersex children. They have male and female parts. Tell me, if you were born that way would you be announcing it to people? You may know a lot of people, but something tells me that a lot of people would not confide something that personal in most others.

The few people that are born that way, I assume take on the gender they

are most comfortable with as they grow up. So we still end up with only

two genders?

I would think they end up happy with their choice of gender, as like you, I

have never come across any one who goes between genders on a temporary

basis!

Even the people who 'trans' from one gender to the other do it between

the *choice of two.*

This is about babies- babies whose parents, usually with the help of specialists, have to choose which gender to raise their child as. There are sometimes surgeries involved as well, to align the baby more with the sex the parents choose. This isn't about gender fluidity in the least.

There are chromosome/medical tests that can be done so gender can be more

accurate to the babies, however that choice will be that of the parent or Dr.

which means it may not be what the baby as an adult would have chosen?

^^^^^That^^^^ = not the choice of the grown up child?

America is different and I DO like it that way.

There is already a Europe and if you want to live under that oppression then I am sure they will welcome you with open arms (ask any terrorist).

Considering my great grandad had his parents killed in front of him and was on an orphan train to the east...you might want to check your words there...terrorist is defined by those who are terrorized.

Just odd. After all you're just going into a cubicle and taking a dump? Who cares?

No one knocks on the door and says "Hey man, do you have a Vagina or Penis in there?"

Odd behavior.

Also, doesn't this offer the chance for children to be exposed to the opposite sex? Regardless "of the way they feel about themselves"?

Strange

Beyond ridiculous! People are either male or female, genetically. And, no, some extra chromosome doesn't change that, either. Nor does some odd defect. Germany is just gone, at this point.

How will they reconcile this move with allowing Islam to flourish so much? I see a lot of problems in their future!
