ATS database corruption

Might be nothing, but just a heads up.

I went searching for a specific thread, using the search function for "Helicopter carrying 8 senior Saudi officials including prince Mansour"

Oddly it brings me to this thread: www.abovetopsecret.com...

???

Can't be random.

Either the db is corrupted...or thread ID's are reused in some manner.

the ats search function has always been quite bad, your experience sounds like it functioning as normal.
its better to use google to search ats.

What are you talking about? If you click the hit on that search, you still get the Jimmy Fallon thread.

That is to say I am not sure why this has happened or even where the actual helicopter thread is. Time to do a manual search it seems.

I know DB corruption issues can be serious if not addressed ASAP.

Was the thread trashed? Are those thread ID's reused?

I always assumed trashed threads sat in a non-public forum.

Thread IDs are unique and not reused. I'm spitballing here, but maybe, just maybe the two threads were posted at exactly the same time and something glitched.

I didn't think IDs were reused. That would cause all kinds of problems.

I do remember ATS being super slowwwwww the last couple of days.

Maybe the problem is very limited.

I know FredT has a good thread on the subject, but not that title. And there is a trashed thread on the subject but again not the same title....

That sounds like the kind of thing that if it happened in stargate would have created a time line paradox or split the universe or similar.

Might be an index issue.

loam, did the search and also got the Fallon's mom thread. Strange. Maybe the thread was removed and the Fallon is "best fit"? But usually when that happens it just brings to Top (when a thread is removed).
