War and Sheeple

On AHC is running a series called: Apocalypse WW1

It is a pretty remarkable series with lots of colorized footage of World War 1.

What is baffling to me is: How do you mobilize so many people into war all around the world ?

Even in Africa during this time, African natives were trained (I mean some pretty primitive looking tribes) and sent to fight for the Europeans. Why are they fighting? Why would you fight for them?

So many people all around the world, suddenly sent to fight and kill each other.. why do they fight? Why even listen to these people?

I suspect most of the people had no idea what they were fighting for, other than that the enemy was attacking. Or if you were sent to attack, who knows what for?

Its amazing how such a small group of people can orchestrate such large masses of people according to their will.

Often you will see the officers in these documentaries and they look so relaxed, clean, and at ease, separate from the infantry. And ditto when you see the leaders of the respective countries when they meet, their demeanors look unusually relaxed; smiles even.

back then even though the european countries claimed that they weren't empire building and exploiting countries for their resources they were.

and their treatment of these people was not much different than in the days of their slave trading. often times more brutal. the indigenous people of those countries stood just as much chance of surviving war as they did the occupation of their lands.

It is amazing, and just shows how powerful the propaganda machine is. I started having doubts when I was near the middle/end of my enlistment. I learned quick to STFU. I am glad I joined for the training and experience, but the more I look back, the more I see what a cluster F war really is, and how it is generally not needed. It's a sham.

The greatest series I’ve seen regarding World War One is “The First World War.”
I believe it was a BBC production if memory serves...

I highly suggest buying and watching it if u can find 9 hours of spare time..

Demons don't give a toss for the possessed meat-suit of a sinner. The more sinners that die, the more fun they have awaiting them when they return to hell.

The demon officers and generals all have smiles on their faces. They often fight over who can kill the most stupid humans in a single battle. Hiroshima was big fun for a few of them.

Humans who protect their territory, homes, families from invading armies are rightfully fighting back in self-defense.

While others have found your words harsh, I have to agree to some extent.

Why would anyone be willing to kill other people without just cause? For a paycheck? Food or safety? Desperation from wanting to provide for their family or a convenient solution? I suspect those can sometimes be the reasons..

Maybe the ones who genuinely feel they are doing good or right should be exempt from the ill fates you mention.

If they genuinely feel they are doing good then I am sure they all get a warning (dream) from God showing them their Final Destination.

Maybe look at God giving everyone a harmless talent that is constructive towards civilization.

God will probably not be impressed with the ones that have a creative talent yet join the military.

If it is compulsory like a draft, then ok. But if that person has a 'good' talent, ignores it and ends up killing innocent women and children instead, then that is not going to go well on Judgment Day.

As for harsh words, I agree; but so are the harsh realities of war when one is on the receiving end of it.

I was a soldier the job was KILLING not MURDER in case the uneducated amongst us struggle with their OWN emotions ,with out considering THE FACT of colonization and OF COURSE forget ALL ABOUT,the pay back that SOLDIERS keep away from your throats,HAVEN'T they?
