All they talk about is in the Mach 6+ range, barely hypersonic. I really doubt they are aiming for high hypersonic speeds with the SR-72.

Mach 20 is ICBM re-entry speeds. Those take a---to be technical--big ass rocket---the kinetic energy gained going up is what you get coming back down, concentrated in something very small.
