Could you explain why a backward, powerless country "ditching the dollar" would, in any way, be a "blow to the US?" Zerohedge has a way of spinning facts into nonsense. Ironically, Russia and China are looking to Venezuela as a potential base for their Atlantic fleets, but collecting rent in rubles is like taking payment in smoke.

Relax, its all part of the plan. The globalists cannot have what they want without the collapse of the US....this is how they will do it...everyone dumps said dollar in favor of something that's actually worth something...banking system resets to another fiat currency and the US comes crashing down as a result....then joins that new money and becomes a 3rd world sweatshop much like China as the wealth shifts back to the east from the wests control as it has done throughout history. Nothing new here guys...

But ultimately yes, there is no place for El Presidente' so they may very well show him the door with his head first.

You people that spout this ignorance totally crack me up.

Do you honestly believe that this nation will collapse without turning everything into a complete and utter chaotic mess.

How would there be any other banking institutions to turn to if the whole damn world is burning.

People such as yourself think you have it all figured out.

One thing you are completely overlooking is that we, the US, have a power hungry Congress. With this power hungry Congress comes with oversight of a power hungry military.

Our people in power will not allow a foreign entity topple the power structure in this country.

Wishful thinking coming from people around here, but it will not happen the way you say.

Its like they are trying to advocate the demise of the US. I know they are not Americans because a citizen wouldn't be that stupid to suggest this.

lol, its like, you live here and you still s# on it, shm.

Petrodollar collapse is fear mongering and you can google that and come across whole swaths of articles predicting the immediate collapse of the US dollar, dating back since the mid 2000's. As usual, nothing comes from it. That and This.

The Petrodollar is just one aspect of our global grip, its faith in the American economy that helps keep the dollar and faith strong.

I love how people state "it's easy to blame the us" as if that invalidates the facts that we have attempted multiple coups there, conduct industrial espionage, spend millions fomenting dissent, etc. Like we just say these things because we have a hate on for the poor, singled out us. Not because it's historically accurate, and absolutely relevant to the current situation. Its like pointing at Cuba and saying "look how bad communism is", while ignoring that we've held their economy in a stranglehold the last 5 decades and more. How about, let's not talk about Venezuela and the perils of socialism until we have a discussion about Columbia, and the perils of capitalism.

Oil is still priced in dollars and that is not changing anytime soon despite false rumors to the country of gold-backed currencies which are not being implemented. This is more just smoke and mirrors and superficial grandstanding.

LOL. Op. even if the dollar fails. you will see the government seize all of that gold as they did one time before from private citizens and give them IOUs in exchange. They will then use that gold to either start a new currency or pay off the debt. Fools invest in gold they can actually touch if the governemnt knows where you live.
