Reports of Active Shooter at New York Hospital

Police are responding to reports of an active shooter at Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center in the Bronx, New York. Two law enforcement sources tell ABC News several people have been shot.

*Comments are saying suspect armed with M16 wearing a lab coat...

*3 doctors have been shot - one is currently being treated.

*Unconfirmed reports that it is an employee of the hospital.

*Commentator called it a "rampage" on the livefeed dragonlover just posted

*Also a fire reported on 16th floor by multiple different reports

*Shooter may be "compromised" on 17th floor

Nope. You can't have an AR patterned rifle in NYC. This can't be true.

Maybe the shooter has a grudge on the medical service ? Maybe it's a hit on a patient a witness to something? Interesting they say the suspect is wearing a lab coat possibly a good disguise to escape .. blend it with the crowd

Could be any number of reasons for those so desperate or on drugs illegal/legal!

It's a gun free zone in a relatively fun free city... In a state with tough on gun laws.
Add to that, it's a building full of easy targets!

It's like a buffet for nutters...

Multiple people shot, along with three doctors. That's terrible. Doctors save people from gunshots every day. Now they get shot, too!

Fox News correspondent just said 4-6 have been shot, and perp has been neutralized.

Airspace has also been shut down.

NBC confirmed with Fox the shooter is dead. Male in his 30's.
