I beleve a plane matching this description exists but I doubt that it is the TR-3B. If you go to the address below you will see the TR-3A
www.geocities.com...

Now look at the supposed TR-3B at:
www.teegeeack.com...

I think you agree that there is too much diffrence for them to be the "A" and "B" model of the same design

Northrop (or lockheed?) TR-3A is illustrated in "World air power journal - Encyclopedia of world military aircraft - single volume edition 1996" And this is no "funny" book..
There is no picture.. but some info.. "Known as BLACK MANTA" .. "perhaps 20-30 build" .. "nick-named Shamu" .. "some pics taken of it in Roving Sands 93" .. "one landed at 18 March 1993 at Holloman afb.. being refered as [806] and [STF] .. "

And by the way.. no nuclear powered as two f404 jets being supposedly used..
forum.a-10.org... .. Here is a pics of it and not of aurora as claimed..

ya know, you would have to be a real IDIOT to mistake a boeing 707 for the "tr-3b flying triangle". Let's see here, the 707 is a commercial airliner that makes noise when passing overhead like any other com. airliner unlike this "tr-3b" whom is said to stay stationary then move off at high speeds of mach 7+ without a sound. The three "engines" underneath the "tr-3b" would not resemble the lights on an 707 because they don't flash, and they are of one solid color from the stories I've read. So anotherwords if have problems distinguishing venus for a ufo, then you'd more then likely have the same problem with this 707 and "tr-3b" story.

~ Thanks guys.

The supposed designation TR-3 quoted for the alleged Black Manta tactical reconnaissance flying wing by AW&ST and few other publications was actually a misinterpretation of Tier III, a canceled USAF program for a large stealthy strategic reconnaissance flying wing. A plausible explanation as to why Tier III was erroneously interpreted as TR-3 and how the legend of the Black Manta became established can be found at this link:
www.secretprojects.co.uk...-220206

By the way, what is the first known publication whereby TR-3B is mentioned, given that whoever created the fictitious designation TR-3B didn't know that TR-3 was a misinterpretation of Tier III?
