Thank you for asking, I miss him dearly, I keep dreaming about him and wake up calling his name. I won't give up.
So a little update from 'Bushville'.
My 'Significant Other' is in hospital with 'something' a virus or bacterial infection. The talking heads are suggesting Leptospirosis, but his symptoms are leaning towards West Nile. We have confirmed cases in birds in the area, so I told him to be firm and suggest the option.
Opposite me, he would never confront a 'white coat', or any 'authority'. I think they are going for Lepto because it is easier to treat. If they do find WN it would cause panic.

I on my part am exhausted, the MF's cut our hours so three people have to perform the same amount as four in 75% of the time.
No Way. I can't move faster, Mach 2 (1534.54 mph) at normal speed, Mach 5 when under pressure. But not continuously.
"When you must hurry, go slow" I don't know where this quote comes from, but I have used it over the past twenty years.

Wis, I'm so sorry to hear about your significant other being in the hospital. Please keep us updated on any news.

AS far as work, you can only do so much, so don't push yourself too hard. It's not your fault they are letting people go.

Blue, sorry you are feeling 'meh'. I feel like that a lot myself.

When ever one of my younger colleagues reply to my request of how they are with this response, I all ways politely ask them if they have laryngitis? " Don't 'Meh' me, we have work to do, and I need to know at what level I can expect your performance, and where I need to encourage you"

I am sorry you are 'off ', but perhaps it would be beneficial for you to try to relate to those who are supporting you in here? Many of us are.
Please just settle down and listen to the chitter chatter.

Shall we step through the mirror portal and see where it will lead us? Surely it will take us far away to a world of enchantment and dreams, a world filled with wonder and beautiful things. As one day fades into the next and we are left fumbling and searching for something better, something more, we ache for the serenity that somehow eludes us. Like a butterfly it flits in and out of our life when we long to hold it, if only for a moment.

Let us wander far from here, taking steps together as we journey forth into the comfort of magic, our magic, our enchanted realm. Here we can ride on mystical creatures throughout the lands, dance in a glade of wild flowers with the wind in our hair, wild and free. You can go where your heart longs to go and be anything you desire to be. This is your world whenever you need it and it shall never die. Soar on the wings of imagination and be taken away, far, far away.

Thanks Night, I am happy he is in the hospital, but I doubt they will diagnose him properly. At least his vitals are taken care of.
As for work, I have decided not to go beyond my physical limits. It isn't my responsibility.

Thank You for reminding us that life is much more than the physical trauma we experience.

We must dream and imagine, we must create realms of everlasting beauty and joy. Thank You, you wonderful Elf.

I'm glad you won't be pushing yourself to do more than you should be Wis! I am also glad that your better half is in the hospital where he is in good hands and can be monitored.

Oh hell yeah, we must dream, imagine and create realms of everlasting beauty and joy. Well said! I'd be so lost otherwise and I know others would be too. HUGS my beautiful friend!

Good Morning Sheddington,

BigG has returned safe & well from the festival at the weekend.
I had an absolute blast the whole time I was away.
Drunk a lot of.... things! Played a lot of tunes... (Apparently there are some incriminating videos...) Caught up with some old friends and made some great new ones too!

I am completely knackered now (can't bounce back like I used to!) But wouldn't swap it for the world.

This is a message for you.
Music (real music) is food for the soul.
If you possibly can, find out where there is a local music festival or even a music venue where you can go and hear real live musicians play real live instruments (preferably acoustically).
A lot of modern music has lost its soul. The more electronic shenaniganery that goes on in making the music, the further away it gets from its roots and its heart (OUR hearts).
Real Musicians play for the love of it. Many of the festivals I attend are completely FREE.
Go. Enjoy, and buy the band a drink if you can! (But don't worry if you can't!)

Thanks Admin! I hope she had a good day - of course I cannot speak for her. It was breakfast, then a small present I made by hand (our budget for gifts is non-existent at the moment), and finally, dinner at Old Chicago. Mmmmm...calzones...

Thank you, WIS! Shepherdess, Mrs. Shep, whatever.

I'm sorry to hear about this. In one way, I'm like your SO - I don't like to confront doctors, although, I do know they are not infallible and sometimes come up against situations or conditions they just don't know what to do about. When I do confront them, I tend to couch it as requests for clarification and additional information. I can be quite the BS artist at times, actually.

I hope & pray that he will recover quickly.

Everyone else -
HAPPY MONDAY!

OH, and BTW -
You guys may enjoy this. I put an entry into the latest "just for fun" writing contest. I can tell you, it WAS fun to write, but I'll warn you, it's a bit more grim than my usual fare. No lovey-dovey heart-string-tugging this time around.

WOW Timely, that is awe inspiring. Thank you for bringing this to our attention it is absolute ear candy.
I play the Bodhran a little and native drumming fairly proficient and now I want one of these Hang drums.
Just a little sample for those who don't know what all the fuss is about.

Thank you, Hugs

I have to share these Old Boys
Safri Duo, Played Alive, first out in 2001. This is from a concert in 2011. Still going strong

Danish fabulous boy band. They rocked my world when I lived over there and still do, if I need extra energy cleaning I just put them on, pull the curtains and off I go.

Sorry I know it's not the kind of tunes we normally listen to around here but hey!!! I would post Darude Sandstorm but that might get me kicked out of the Shed.

Thanks Shep, he is being looked at by a infectious disease guru this morning. I will wager it is West Nile.
I am grateful he is in good hand, so I'll just wait and see.

A good friend of mine died of a massive heart attack last night. I went to give my condolences after work, finding her son, he broke down, little me holding him sobbing. Life is so fragile. Tears and hugs were the only comfort I could offer.

I am at good handling grieving people I rather say nothing than provide trivia that only suppresses the emotions that need an outlet. Physical contact is much more pertinent. Our bodies know how to express them selves.
So fragile, I will miss her dearly. She was a force of life, never ill. I was gonna pick up cheese for her today. So Fragile.

It again reminds me to celebrate the people I love and care for.

How very true. A friend of mine lost his wife suddenly last Fall - no warning. Both in their early thirties, two small children. Now he is a widower - a term to which we usually apply the connotation of a graying man.

Fragile, indeed.
